Left-wing Twitter howled at President Trump yesterday for issuing a stern warning to the Iranian government, after its president engaged in bellicose rhetoric, again, and while continuing the potential development of nuclear weapons.
To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!

In response, liberals voiced their disapproval, which ranged from run-of-the-mill ridicule to thinly-veiled threats (RELATED: Hollywood Unleashed: The 7 Worst Threats Against Trump).
One of the more provocative posts came from anti-gun activist David Hogg, who sent out an all-caps warning of his own. The tweet copied and pasted most of Trump’s language, but threatened the president himself.

Hogg’s tweet becomes problematic when he threatens Trump with “CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE” before admonishing the president to “BE CAUTIOUS.”
While Hogg has no criminal record and the tweet probably amounts to nothing more than a poor attempt at humor, one could argue the activist’s words could incite violence against the president.
A visit from the Secret Service under such circumstances isn’t unprecedented, as Kathy Griffin can attest.
