A Democrat preparing to run for president had choice words for a GOP Senator after she admitted receiving death threats for merely considering voting for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“Boo hoo hoo.”
The Daily Caller has more:
That was California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell’s reaction to Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins saying she had received threats meant to influence her vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“My office has received some pretty ugly voicemails, threats, terrible things said to my staff,” Collins said in an interview with Maine radio station WVOM.
“Boo hoo hoo. You’re a senator who police will protect,” Swalwell wrote in a tweet early Thursday morning.
“A sexual assault victim can’t sleep in her home tonight because of threats. Where are you sleeping? She’s on her own while you and your @SenateGOP colleagues try to rush her through a hearing.”
Swalwell’s flippant dismissal of Collins came 11 days after his Republican challenger, Rudy Peters, survived an assassination attempt.
Peter’s attacker, Farzad Fazeli, allegedly condemned the Republican Party before his stabbing attempt.
Swalwell eventually deleted his tweet and issued an apology after hours of withering criticism.
