Tenacious New York City Congressman Jerry Nadler and controversial actor Alec Baldwin are two of the most prominent critics of the president.

Before chairing the powerful House Judiciary Committee, Nadler was known for undergoing gastric bypass surgery and being accused of skipping out on a taxi fare.

Baldwin’s credits include Beetlejuice, Glengarry Glen Ross, and The Departed. The hot-headed A-lister has faced criticism going back decades for, among other things, repeatedly using homophobic slurs, punching someone over a parking space, and telling a female reporter, “I hope you choke to death.”

Both men vehemently opposed the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.

Almost exactly 21 years ago, they spoke alongside scholars, journalists, and celebrities to oppose Clinton’s impeachment – despite indisputable proof that he broke the law (obstruction of justice, perjury, and contempt of court).

Nadler, Baldwin, and others argued the GOP-controlled Congress abdicated its duties to the people to punish Clinton for perceived political gain.

Funny how that attitude changed, right?
