While Alexander Hamilton has become somewhat of an icon of the left due to the success of the Broadway show Hamilton, they fail to grasp that he was the very “gun nut” that they abhor. Ironic to say the least. Hamilton wrote the above quote in an essay later compiled into The Federalist Papers in defense of the Constitution.
