Fox News firebrand Tomi Lahren is facing withering backlash today from an unexpected source: grassroots conservatives.

Criticism from the right comes following Lahren’s tweet slamming Alabama’s “heartbeat bill” as “too restrictive.”

The Daily Wire’s James Barrett reports:

“I will be attacked by fellow conservatives for saying this but so be it, this Alabama abortion ban is too restrictive,” said Lahren. “It doesn’t save life, it simply forces women into more dangerous methods, other states or countries. You don’t encourage life via blanket government mandate!”

After some of the pushback she expected online, Lahren followed up her post by replying to a tweet slamming her stance as “anti-Christian, anti-family, and anti-freedom.”

“If you think banning abortion with no exception for rape or incest will stop women from terminating pregnancy, you’re not being honest with yourself,” wrote Lahren, adding: “P.S. you’re not God so don’t you dare evaluate my Christian faith based on your moral superiority complex.”

Lahren caused a stir on the right back in March 2017 when she voiced her pro-choice perspective during an appearance on “The View.” At the time, Lahren hosted her own show on Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze TV, but her comments drove a wedge between herself and her employer resulting in her suspension and a wrongful termination lawsuit.

Is Alabama’s new law an overreach or will the Democrats’ narrative fall flat?
