Fox News attempted to cover the U.S. Women’s Soccer team’s World Cup victory in Paris on Sunday.
Unruly American fans chanting “f*** Trump” and attacking our “racist” president made that exceptionally difficult.
The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo reports:
“Now we need to win in 2020! Democrats!” screamed a man wearing an American flag-style hat, later yelling, “Get that racist out of the White House!”
“Democrats! U.S.A. Democrats!” another cheering woman shouted.
“They are very happy,” said Fox News reporter Greg Palkot. “It’s a bit of a political thing, too, as you can see.”
The women’s national team has become overtly political, particularly with respect to forward Megan Rapinoe. The star athlete protested the national anthem during the World Cup — refusing to put her hand over heart during “The Star-Spangled Banner” — as an apparent “F you” to President Trump and his administration. Rapinoe, who fashions herself a “walking protest” because of her status as a gay woman, also made waves when she told the media that there is no way she’d be going to the “f***ing White House” if invited by the president.
For his part, the president congratulated the women’s team following their 2-0 victory over the Netherlands.
Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team on winning the World Cup! Great and exciting play. America is proud of you all!

Sunday’s victory reignited the pay-equity debate between male and female athletes.
