Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez finds herself facing mounting criticism from an unlikely source today: her Democratic colleagues – and an offer fraught with peril from Fox News’ Sean Hannity, but one she may not be able to turn down.
Many Democrats are furious at Ocasio-Cortez for suggesting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is singling out the New Yorker and her closest allies because of their race.
Days before, her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, compared moderate Democrats to Jim Crow-era segregationists.
Now, Sean Hannity is offering the freshman lawmaker the entire hour on his weeknight program to discuss the future of the Democratic Party.
It would give AOC the chance to defend herself from increasing criticism, which has escalated to thinly-veiled primary threats.
At the same time, Ocasio-Cortez would have to explain her radical ideas to millions of likely voters while her party clings to a slim majority in the House of Representatives.
The stakes couldn’t be higher.
Do think Sean’s olive branch would expose the increasingly radicalized Democratic Party and usher in a pro-Trump majority? Or is too risky and unnecessarily props up AOC?
