New post-debate polling is out, and there are some major changes. As Breitbart reports:
GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson leads Donald Trump in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll by six points, 29 percent to 23 percent.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)77% came in third with 11 percent. Fourth place went to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)93%
with 10 percent, and fifth place was taken by Jeb Bush with 8 percent.Carly Fiorina, John Kasich, Mike Huckabee, and Chris Christie came in with three percent. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)91%
had two percent.Jim Gilmore, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)45%, and George Pataki all registered under one percent.
This is obviously great news for Carson, who seems to has endeared himself to social conservative voters and rode that wave past Trump. It’s horrible news for Jeb Bush, who is now a solid fifth despite having the lion’s share of resources. You have to wonder if Bush donors are going to start jumping ship for the Cruz and Rubio campaigns. or pressuring Jeb! to drop out.
Everyone else? A week ago, the Daily Caller reported that no one in the undercard debate had any intention of dropping out. It will be interesting to see if that changes in light of this polling. With another undercard debate unlikely, you wonder if it wouldn’t behoove these candidates to throw their support behind one of the frontrunners.
