President Obama forgot to update his State of the Union address to account for an inconvenient fact:
President Obama boasted in his State of the Union address Tuesday “no nation dares to attack us or our allies,” just hours after news broke Iran is holding 10 U.S. sailors.
“The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth,” he said. “Period. It’s not even close. … Our troops are the finest fighting force in the history of the world,” he said. “No nation dares to attack us or our allies, because they know that’s the path to ruin.”
Obama also touted the “global coalition” his administration created to counter Iran’s nuclear program, and said “we’re threatened less by evil empires and more by failing states.”
The President has moved beyond embarrassing himself at this point and has perhaps descended into pure delusion., The Iranian detainment of US sailors on the date of the State of the Union seemed all too well timed to be anything more than a provocation, yet Obama failed to even respond with as much as a stern rebuke. Nothing about this suggests that Iran will become any less hostile, or that the peace agreement he wants to hang his hat on is anything more than worthless paper. Obama’s presidency is now a complete and total failure.
