The multitude of animals and children that that lived at the White House during the Roosevelt Administration essentially transformed the presidential residence into a zoo. Apart from the number of horses, dogs, cats, snakes, lizards, badgers, etc. that lived at the White House, for a time Teddy also possessed a coyote, a lion, a hyena, and a zebra.
