Until last week, John Ratcliffe quietly represented the people of Texas’ 4th congressional district.
Then came former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony before Congress.
Ratcliffe came to national prominence when he aggressively confronted Mueller, saying:
“I agree with Chairman Nadler this morning when he said Donald Trump is not above the law. But he damn sure should not be below the law which is where Volume II of this report puts him.”
He added:
“You wrote 180 pages about decisions that weren’t reached, about potential crimes that weren’t charged or decided. Respectfully, by doing that, you managed to violate every principle and the most sacred of traditions about prosecutors.”
Yesterday, the president selected the former US attorney to be the next Director of National Intelligence following ODNI Director Dan Coats’ August 15 resignation.
