UPDATED:

Convicted pedophile and friend of Washington and Hollywood elite, Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan prison cell last night – despite having been on suicide watch.

Two weeks ago, jailers found Epstein unconscious with “apparent bruising on his neck.”

Epstein’s death comes one day after a court unsealed documents showing one of his accusers claimed that he trafficked her to powerful men for sex – including former Democratic governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson, Britain’s Prince Andrew, former Democratic Senator of Maine George Mitchell, “another prince,” a “foreign president,” and a “well-known prime minister,” among others.

None of the men named in the deposition had yet been charged.

Other prominent and influential figures, starting with former President Bill Clinton were closely connected to Epstein.

According to investigative reporter Conchita Sarnoff, Bill Clinton took more than two dozen trips on Epstein’s private jet, the Lolita Express.

The former president claimed he only flew with Epstein four times. However, his name appeared 27 times on flight manifestsincluding five times without his Secret Service detail. (RELATED: Here’s Who Flew on the Lolita Express)

In a statement to the Miami Herald last month, Clinton denied any prior knowledge about Epstein’s “terrible crimes… which he pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York.”

Investigative reporter Conchita Sarnoff found another bombshell in the pilot logs:

“Almost every time that Clinton’s name is on the pilot logs, there are underage girls, there are initials, and there are names of many, many girls on that private plane.”

It seems unlikely now investigators will be able to corroborate that evidence.

Update: 10:28 am Monday, August 12

Federal prosecutors and the FBI agents who meticulously built the case against Epstein have reportedly turned their attention to Ghislaine Maxwell, who accusers say helped Epstein recruit, train, and coerce them into performing sex acts on Epstein and his associates. (CBS News)

Together, Epstein and Maxwell allegedly built what prosecutors, police and a growing number of women described as a sex-trafficking operation that crisscrossed the nation to provide Epstein with three young girls a day.

The death of Epstein, the convicted sex offender who authorities said hanged himself in a federal detention center cell in New York on Saturday, leaves those who seek to hold someone responsible for the alleged abuse of dozens of girls with one prime target: Maxwell.

The U.S. attorney in New York, Geoff Berman, assured the “brave young women who have already come forward and . . . the many others who have yet to do so” that “our investigation of the conduct charged in the indictment — which included a conspiracy count — remains ongoing.”
