Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) has become notorious for his out of control helicopter governing. Yet, somehow, Cuomo’s heavy-handed role in dictating how his 19 million constituents celebrate Thanksgiving goes even further than we feared:
Cuomo’s performance during the pandemic has garnered widespread praise from the mainstream media despite this state’s unusually high percentage of Covid-19 fatalities in long-term care facilities. Many of those deaths are attributable to the state health department’s inexplicable decision to force nursing homes and other vulnerable communities to accept residents not fully recovered from the highly contagious coronavirus after being discharged from the hospital.
Amid his latest mafioso-style rant, which somehow qualifies as a press conference, we can agree with one thing Cuomo uttered, “Nothing is normal, because it’s not normal.”
When it comes to New York, you can say that again.
