Clarence Thomas has been a vanguard for conservative principles during his nearly three-decade-long tenure on the Supreme Court.

Thomas’ solemn duty to upholding the Constitution as the Founders intended has made him powerful enemies, but that’s a price principled leaders throughout history have made for the greater good:

Shortly after becoming a Supreme Court associate justice, Thomas remarked that “People look at the Court in kind of a current events mode; our work is long-term work and has to have a much longer shelf-life.”

That doesn’t mean Thomas is immune to the current generated by Washington, D.C.’s political theater, but regardless of who stirs it up, he remains implacably loyal to the Constitution.

I have always admired Justice Thomas. I was asked what I thought about him at work when he was under indictment by Joe way back when he was being questioned for the supreme court. We may be finding out if he holds a grudge from that nasty line of questioning. I hope so!
