Nunes Finds Loophole Sure to Infuriate Schiff

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and his fellow Republicans may get the chance to call their witnesses in the House impeachment inquiry after all.

The development comes thanks to a clause cited in a letter signed by nine Republican representatives. (Western Journal)

The Thursday letter appears to exploit a loophole in an attempt to bring forward witnesses denied by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

The California Democrat previously denied many of Republicans’ witness requests, a power he was granted after a rule change earlier in the month.

According to Nunes’ letter, the newfound clause is “not displaced” by the rule change.

Nunes originally wanted to call the following eight witnesses:

  • Devon Archer, former board member at Burisma Holdings
  • Hunter Biden, former board member at Burisma Holdings
  • Alexandra Chalupa, former Democratic National Committee staffer
  • David Hale, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs
  • Tim Morrison, White House National Security Council adviser
  • Nellie Ohr, Fusion GPS researcher
  • Ambassador Kurt Volker, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO
  • The anonymous whistleblower

Schiff only called Hale, Morrison, and Volker to testify.
