FLASHBACK: Obama White House Admitted Airlifted Cash Would Go to Iranian Forces Who Shot Down Ukrainian Airline

The mainstream media are rushing to blame President Donald Trump for Iran’s shootdown of a Ukrainian passenger jet, but that flies in the face of admissions by the Obama White House they knew the cash would be used to finance terrorism and specially be used by the Iranian military unit that shot down the plane.

Under the terms of Obama’s 2015 deal with Iran, Obama released billions of dollars Iran had deposited in U.S.-based bank accounts but were frozen when international sanctions were levied against the ruling Islamic regime.

The cash was doled out in U.S. dollars, loaded onto cargo pallets and flown directly to Iran.  Obama officials admitted Iran would almost certainly use the cash to finance terrorism and even target U.S. servicemembers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In a January 2016 appearance on CNBC, former Obama Secretary of State John Kerry admitted to CNBC Iran would use their Obama cash to finance terrorism, and specifically said it would be used to finance the arm of the Iranian military which would shoot down the Ukrainian jetliner.

“I think that some of it will end up in the hands of the IRGC or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists,” said Kerry, referring to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. “You know, to some degree, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that every component of that can be prevented.”

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps admitted they shot down the airliner, claiming they mistook it for a “U.S. cruise missile,” despite the fact it had just taken off from Iran’s main airport and was gaining altitude.

Months before Kerry’s admission, then-National Security Adviser Susan Rice also told CNN Iran would use their Obama cash for terrorism.

“Once they start getting that money are there any restrictions on how the Iranians can use that money? Obviously they can use it to build schools and highways, but they could use it to support international terrorism, right?,” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Rice in a July 15, 2015 interview.

“It is real, it is possible, and, in fact, we should expect that some portion of that money would go to the Iranian military and could potentially be used for the kinds of bad behavior that we have seen in the region up until now,” Rice admitted.
