FBI Intensifies Terror Investigation

Since Friday’s mass shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola, the FBI has placed 10 Saudi nationals in custody to determine whether the gunman acted alone.

The gunman, 21-year-old Mohammed Alshamrani, was a second lieutenant in the Royal Saudi Air Force. He trained at Naval Aviation Schools Command as a student naval flight officer.

One week before the shooting, Alshamrani hosted a dinner party, complete with videos of mass shootings.

The Daily Wire reports:

Sources told The Associated Press that three students attended the dinner party and that one of those students recorded a video of the attacker committing the attack as it happened.

“Two other Saudi students watched from a car,” the AP reported. “Ten Saudi students were being held on the base Saturday while several others were unaccounted for, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity after being briefed by federal authorities.”

President Donald Trump responded to the attack, writing: “King Salman of Saudi Arabia just called to express his sincere condolences and give his sympathies to the families and friends of the warriors who were killed and wounded in the attack that took place in Pensacola, Florida. The King said that the Saudi people are greatly angered by the barbaric actions of the shooter, and that this person in no way shape or form represents the feelings of the Saudi people who love the American people.”

Agents are continuing the investigation under the presumption that the fatal shooting was an act of terrorism.

The FBI requested more information from the public about the alleged attacker, tweeting: “The NAS Pensacola shooter is identified as Saudi national Mohammed Alshamrani. Anyone with information regarding his activites is encouraged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI. FBI Jacksonville is not aware of any credible threat toward the Pensacola community at this time.”
