While generally in bad taste, the Democrats’ militant anti-police rhetoric and uncompromising demands would’ve left cops on their own and prevented law enforcement from utilizing effective crowd control techniques if protests turned into full-fledged riots.
The following police departments were recruited as part of an outside collection of law enforcement agencies to assist Milwaukee P.D. at the August 17-20 convention. We can confirm these few agencies abandoned ship after a civilian oversight commission demanded Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales severely restrict the use of tear gas and pepper spray.
Morales was threatened with termination if he didn’t comply.

.RGB. via Wikimedia CommonsFond du Lac Police Chief William Lamb told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he regrets having to withdraw from the program. Still, he strongly disagrees with the oversight commission’s decision.
“We believe in removing those tools, the use of chemical irritants or pepper spray, from the available resources that the law enforcement officers would have at their disposal if protests become non-peaceful would severely compromise the safety of the public and also the safety of the law enforcement officers who would be assigned to protect the DNC,” he added.

“I can not send personnel if they are not properly equipped or will not be allowed to engage in appropriate actions which would ensure their safety,” Oliva wrote.

The vast majority of Wisconsin law enforcement agencies have not announced whether they still intend to provide the Milwaukee Police Department with assistance. Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales knows but has not publicly disclosed that information.
We know that those who are righteously abandoning the upcoming DNC convention account for nearly 19% of all of Wisconsin’s law enforcement agencies.
Following this debacle, the City of Milwaukee is considering calling federal officers or activating the National Guard.

I pray that if the DNC calls on Federal Agents to protect them, that the Federal Agents follow the local police officers and say NO WAY NO WAY!! Not sure if the National Guard can do the same thing. If they can, I hope they also follow the example of the local Police Department.
The liberal city officials cannot make the Feds help out. The president does have the authority. If the governor activates the NG they will have to go The president should federalize the WI Army National Guard and give them authority to defend themselves as needed.
