“Progressive” Manipulation of the Law

Billionaire “progressive” George Soros has been spending millions of dollars around the nation to elect state and local prosecutors as part of an on-going campaign to radically transform law enforcement in the United States and weaponize the law to use it against those who won’t go along with the progressive agenda. He’s enjoyed some success at the county level in Virginia, in Chicago and at the state level in Missouri, New York and California.

Soros backed prosecutors often refuse to enforce existing drug and immigration laws as well as other criminal laws they view as “unfair” or “discriminatory.” The infamous Jesse Smollet case in Chicago has proved an embarrassment to Soros-backed Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxxbecause she wanted to let Smollett off with hardly a slap on the wrist. New York Attorney General Letitia James, elected with Soros’s backing has been leading a jihad against the National Rifle Association – which she promised during her campaign to “take down” if elected. These and other cases should serve as a warning to voters: allowing such candidates into office is dangerous both to the rule-of-law and to those who dare disagree with the “progressive” agenda.

Another Soros backed candidate, St. Louis, Missouri’s chief prosecutor Kimberly Gardner (elected in 2016) investigated and forced Republican Governor Eric Greitens out of office on what, it turns out, were fabricated charges. Her abuse of the prosecutorial powers she was allowed to exercise as the result of her electoral victory has been perhaps the most serious to date and illustrates to what lengths Soros’s acolytes will go to destroy their enemies.

Fraudulent Prosecutions

Gardner had won an indictment of the Governor for felony invasion of privacy. Greitens allegedly took pictures of his semi-naked girlfriend without her permission – and threatened to release them if she ever talked about their affair. Greitens had admitted to the affair, but denied the charges. It turned out that Gardner’s hand-picked investigators (she had fired the career investigators working for her office when she came in) had reached out to the girlfriend and insisted though she didn’t think he had ever taken such pictures that they had them. It turned out that there were no pictures or if there were the prosecution didn’t have them or any other proof that what they alleged had even taken place.

The charges and the publicity, however, forced the Governor to resign two years into his four year term, effectively reversing the wishes of Missouri voters and destroying his political career. Last year Gardner was forced to withdraw the indictment and since then her “investigator” has been indicted for his conduct. Gardner herself hasn’t yet been indicted, but the evidence suggests strongly that she directed the whole fraudulent case and then lied about her role under oath. She denies everything, of course, and alleges that the charges against her are being made simply because she is Black and is being targeted by Republican “political operatives.”

Her actions after her election is a textbook example of the way in which Soros backed prosecutors use their prosecutorial powers to reshape the law for their own “progressive” purposes – and to weaponize the law against their opponents. Since taking office, Gardner has not only hired her own “investigators,” but fired more than seventy career prosecutors and banned dozens of St. Louis police officers from testifying in court.

Her successful attack on a sitting Governor might have been emulated elsewhere by other Soros backed progressive prosecutors had it not been exposed as a sham.

The former Governor is suing, but where do Missouri voters go for having been deprived of the man they elected as their governor?

    1. Gunn Mull:You have no basis to make such a claim. You know not what A.G. Bill Barr is doing. It’s comments like yours that causes skeptatism in things you know nothing about. Unless you have first hand knowledge, please keep your unfounded negative opinions to yourself.

  1. I think that Soros has something on Trump from the past. Otherwise Trump would take him down for Sedition. Please don’t misunderstand I’m on the Trump train.
