Democrat Senator Joe Manchin has now refused to sign onto a sweeping new Democrat agenda, potentially killing any chance President Biden has of getting any sort of legislative victory before the upcoming midterms.
As Fox News reports:
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and his staff told Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D, N.Y., unequivocally Thursday that he is only willing to support a reconciliation bill in August that includes a provision to lower prescription drug prices and a two-year extension of subsidies for the Affordable Care Act, according to a Democrat briefed on the conversations.
Manchin was explicit that he won’t support a bill before the midterms with any provisions on energy and climate or closing tax loopholes exploited by the wealthy and biggest corporations, despite his support for those specific things during months of negotiations.
Democrats had hoped to pass a sweeping package to tout during the midterms.
Schumer and Manchin have been negotiating the package for months and the West Virginia moderate had previously said he would be amenable to climate language and tax increases on higher earners in a bill roughly half the size of the $2 trillion social and environmental bill Manchin single-handedly killed last December.
If Democrats end up caving to Manchin’s requests, it will likely mean a far smaller bill, and one that avoids funding many long-sought Democrat project like Climate Change.

Why would anyone put any credibility concerning Climate Science with an emotional 19-year old Gretta, Hollywood Actors, and actors like Bill Nye “The Non-Science Nonsense Guy” who is way over his head once he gets beyond his child-Gilbert Chemistry Set!
For the last 1/4 Century, our climate temperatures are described by highly qualified honest and rational scientists call Moderate “Natural Variability” despite increases in CO2 levels which are now known to Not Have much of an effect on the Earth’s Climate – No Significant Global Warming for 25-years now!
Thus, No Climate Crisis and the Earth’s Climate is now proven to be “Insensitive” to Increases as well as Decreases in Atmospheric CO2-levels! Thus, Increased CO2 levels are not a problem nor have much impact on temperatures and limiting CO2 by curtailing the use of efficient and essential fossil fuels is not a viable way to “Fight Climate Change”!
This Means that CO2 Emissions which a colorless, odorless and Non-Polluting Trace Gas at a mere 400 ppm today is Not a Problem — It is simply Good for our Environment as Plant Food that produce most of the 21% of Oxygen (O2) in our atmosphere that is essential to all life and our currently CO2-Starved Earth would become much Greener and have Considerably better Crop Yields if we doubled, tripled or even quadrupled (i.e., 800 ppm, 1,200 ppm or 1,600 ppm) the Earth’s Atmospheric CO2 levels with little impact on Warming.
Also note: Today we are in the “Modern Global Warming Period” (1850 AD – present) that warmed when coming out of the prior natural “Little Ice Age Global Cooling Period (1300 – 1850 AD) which has not been quite a warm as the prior natural “Medieval Global Warming Period” (900 – 1300 AD).
There have been multiple fully natural & alternating Global Warming and Global Cooling periods since our previous Ice-Age Glacial which has been followed by 11,600 years of a much milder “Interglacial Period” called the Holocene that has hosted very many of these natural alternating warming & cooling cycles — None of these cycles over the last 11,600 years were affected by CO2-levels & most Pre-Date Man’s expanded use of fossil fuels & industrialization!
Such Natural Climate History will certainly repeat itself on Mother Nature’s own time schedule and the Next Cycle, expected fairly soon, will be the Next Modern Global Cooling Period – Not Warming!
The USA has the Most and Highest-Quality (e.g., light sweet) Oil in the World – More than the Entire Middle East and Enough to Supply the Entire World’s Needs for the Next 2041 years as the current best estimate!

Also, Limiting nor Increasing atmospheric CO2 cannot be used to “Fight Climate Change” or have any significant impact on our Climate,
Our Climate is Natural & self-balancing with its massive Weather Systems internally and external Milankovitch Cycles involving our Sun, Earth’s Orbit & Tilt.
Scientists tell us that our Climate is one of the MILDEST in the very long 4.6 Billion years of the Earth’s existence and that there has been no significant Global Warming since it peaked in 1998 — Modest & Flat Natural Climate Variability for the last 25 years — No Global Warming for a Quarter of a Century since 1998!
