According to a new survey conducted by Intelligent.com a surprising number of Democrats are now saying that they may refuse to vote for Joe Biden’s reelection in 2024 if he doesn’t do something about student loan debt.

During his 2020 presidential campaign Biden repeatedly made a number of promises about potentially forgiving significant amounts of student loan debt once he took office, so far he has taken no action on any of these promises.

And as Intelligent.com reports, many Democrats aren’t happy about it:

-21 percent of Democrats claim they won’t support Biden in 2022 if he takes no action on student loan debt. With 20 percent of Republicans and 27 percent of Independents saying the same thing.

-3 out of 4 voters are now considering candidates’ positions on student loan forgiveness.

At the same time, according to the survey, at least 77 percent of Americans want President Biden to attempt to cancel at least some student debt, thought opinions vary on exactly how much:

Given these findings it may be well past time for team Biden to begin preparing to take real action on the issue, or risk the wrath of their own voters.
