Texas is now considering prosecuting the practice of children being given sex changes as part of ‘gender reassignment’ as child abuse.
As The Daily Wire reports:
In a letter last week, state Governor Greg Abbott directed the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to investigate certain “so-called ‘sex change’ procedures” found to “constitute child abuse under existing Texas law.” Abbott cited an opinion by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
“[I]t is already against the law to subject Texas children to a wide variety of elective procedures for gender transitioning, including reassignment surgeries that can cause sterilization, mastectomies, removals of otherwise healthy body parts, and administration of puberty-blocking drugs or supraphysiologic doses of testosterone or estrogen,” Abbott wrote.
“Texas law imposes reporting requirements upon all licensed professionals who have direct contact with children who may be subject to such abuse, including doctors, nurses, and teachers, and provides criminal penalties for failure to report such child abuse,” he continued. “There are similar reporting requirements and criminal penalties for members of the general public.”
“Texas law also imposes a duty on DFPS to investigate the parents of a child who is subjected to these abusive gender-transitioning procedures, and on other state agencies to investigate licensed facilities where such procedures may occur,” he said.
Texas’s move comes as transgenderism has become more and more popular amongst teens and tweens in the United States.

School officials cannot give a child an aspirin without parental permission but can assist in sex changes or set up abortions. How far into The Twilight Zone are we?
One week it is said parents should have the say about their children then the next week when it does not go along with what the people in power think then the parents should be charged for their actions toward the child. Does that include doctors who when a child is born with both sex organs, or a child who is born with a uterus and a penis. Politics should stay out of medical decisions unless it is DENIAL OF HEALTH CARE.
One week parents are being ousted from having input into garbage the school board is allowing taught in the schools. For years teachers complained about uninvolved parents, now they want free rein to teach ideas from those who pay them the most. Parents have always been charged for certain actions that abuse or harm a child. There is a reason those under 18 cannot legally contract or for that matter choose how to use their sex organs. The law here is to say to keep parents from making a life choice that is permanent for someone who is deemed too young to make that decision – or ANY other – due to their age. An adult cannot claim that a 13 year old consented to sex, but it is okay for them to authorize their child’s penis to be removed? What world do you live in? Note, that the proposed law refers to barring HEALTHY organs from being changed.

WRONG. Parents do have say over their children BUT NOT if it harms a chld. This is no different than if parents beat their kid bloody and the courts take the child away because the parents are unfit to raise them. I see no reason for the Texas government to get involved with trying to prevent surgical procedures that are the personal choice of the people getting the operation. If I wanted surgical repair of a bone spur, that is my business and the business of the surgeon doing the procedure. It is a something that has no effect on the welfare of other citizens. Government only needs to be involved to protect and save the lives of the general population from a possible fatal health crisis as was the case where scientific data confirmed that Covid vaccinations greatly prevented Covid-related deaths, hospitalizations, and infections.
