According to a new report from CNN, President Biden has now ordered thousands of U.S. troops to deploy to eastern Europe.
(President Joe Biden has formally approved additional US military deployments to eastern Europe, and the Pentagon is expected to announce Wednesday morning that the troops will deploy “in the coming days,” US officials told CNN.
The deployments are a show of support to NATO allies feeling threatened by Russia’s military moves near Ukraine, the officials said.The Pentagon is expected to announce that thousands of additional US troops will deploy to forward locations in Europe. The deployments will include roughly 2,000 US troops to Poland and an additional few thousand to southeastern NATO countries, including Romania, the sources said.The US has put 8,500 troops in the US on heightened alert in case a NATO Response Force is called up and US forces are needed quickly. But the US and NATO have tens of thousands of other troops already in Europe to draw on for any additional deployments to Eastern European allies; some of the troops that will be deployed soon are already stationed in Europe, the sources said, while others will come from those in the US that are already on heightened alert.
The deployments come as intelligence reports from U.S. and other allied governments have warned of an ‘imminent’ invasion of Ukraine by Russian Forces.

Not just the U.S. but all of NATO should forward deploy troops and equipment to NATO countries that are close to the Ukrainian border. Not in Ukraine because that would be a threat to Russia. Putin and NATO know that no invasion of Russia from the west has ever been successful in the last 200 years.
Biden is worried Ukraine will throw him and Hunter under the bus of corruption if he doesn’t do something . Russia and China are eating our lunch and then some .

A better show of support for NATO nations that are nervous is to put their own troops there too if building up troop levels are so comforting. So Russia has 100,000 troops on the Ukraine border and Biden puts up 8,500? I suppose he will do like Afghanistan and pull the troops out first and then let the civilians get slaughtered at the end, it is Lucy, Charlie Brown and a football, take 2.
This is one the smartest decisions he has ever made in his political career. Now we need to see if he can exhort the Europeans to defend their own turf for a change. I fear they are wont to do this in fear of offending the Russian Bear. That is where real statesmanship comes into play.
