The city of San Jose in deep Blue California has now officially voted to implement a first in the nation scheme to punish gun owners by forcing them to purchase costly insurance in order to own firearms.

The California city of San Jose is set to become the first in the United States to enforce an ordinance requiring most gun owners to pay a fee and carry liability insurance.
In a statement on Tuesday night, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo said the city’s council had voted in favor of both measures, which are aimed at reducing the risk of gun harm and relieving taxpayers of the financial cost of gun violence.

Meanwhile, having liability insurance is meant to encourage gun owners in San Jose to take safety measures, including having gun safes, installing trigger locks and taking gun safety classes.

The new measures, he said, will help build a “constitutionally compliant path to mitigate the unnecessary suffering from gun harm in our community.”
The new measure is likely to be challenged by pro-second amendment groups over the law’s questionable constitutionality.
Well, this is for the Mayor Sam Liccardo D-CA, in the City of San Jose, you can’t do this, why? Well, you can’t require a class of people to purchase something that not everybody will purchase, I mean, the criminals, robbers, felons, mentally ill, people who have restraining orders against them, you are just another democrat that somehow thinks an insurance policy will stop the killings, the people who are causing you the costs for the gun violence aren’t law abiding citizens. They are illegals, criminals with records, and just bad people, arrest them and put them in prison, problem solved!
Since it seems that Politicians are aiding the Criminals it would be a good idea to put them in Prison also!
Another way to help criminals but hurting gun ownership of law abiding citizens. And helping criminals is what they love to do.

This is NOT about reducing gun violence, but rather a move to reduce legal gun ownership among the “subjects” of this increasingly oppressive regime.
If you are armed, you are a Citizen. If you are not armed, you are a Subject. Guess which one the Socialists prefer you to be.

According to the FBI, across the United States in 2018, there were: 1,515 deaths by knives or cutting instruments, 443 people were killed with hammers/clubs/other blunt objects, 672 people were killed from fists/feet/’personal weapons’ compared to the 297 killed by (any) rifles. Did the ordinance require any fees or special liability insurance for those owning knives, cutting instruments, hammers, clubs, other blunt objects, fists, feet, or other ‘personal weapons’? It did not. Only guns. This has nothing to do with saving lives (last I checked insurance doesn’t prevent people from doing anything). It has everything to do with unconstitutional control and tyranny.
