White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is now feverishly attempting to run damage control hours after President Biden announced that he believed that the upcoming 2022 midterms may end up being ‘invalid.’
Psaki then was forced to attempt to deny that Biden actually meant that the upcoming midterms may end up being ‘invalid.’
He was explaining that the results would be illegitimate if states do what the former president asked them to do after the 2020 election: toss out ballots and overturn results after the fact. The Big Lie is putting our democracy at risk. We’re fighting to protect it.

Needless to say, many political observers had little patience for Psaki’s explanation, which seems to directly contradict Biden’s own words:
Joe Biden was asked if the midterms would be fair and legitimate. He said "it depends." Psaki now tells we didn't hear what we heard. https://t.co/g0TWAWlRHE

Thread. White House can deny it, but Biden clearly refused to say 2022 results would be legitimate if Congress does not pass Democrats' voting rules bill. 'I’m not going to say it’s going to be legit.' See 'Biden: Stop the steal!' https://t.co/unzOuG2hSZ https://t.co/EquGintK1p

You 🤡🤡🤡 spent 4 years casting doubt on elections while Trump was president, then decided nobody else can do the same, and our now preparing to enshrine your bullshit.
I don’t like you very much, Jen. https://t.co/e3mCqqDQiS
