Nancy Pelosi’s final term as House Speaker could end in a smoking crater as a new poll shows the Democrat agenda is so radical and socialist voters are ready to throw out her party.
“The survey — conducted by Remington Research Group — showed the president underwater by an average of 7 percentage points on the economy and 9 percent on foreign policy in the areas polled, which include California’s 10th Congressional District, Florida’s 7th Congressional District, Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, Michigan’s 8th and 11th Congressional Districts, Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District and Washington’s 8th Congressional District,” The New York Post reports.
The poll, commissioned by the American Action Network, shows massive voter disapproval of Democrats’ radical new liberal agenda.
Though Republican President Donald Trump lost re-election in 2020, his party gained seats in the U.S. House of Representatives as voters still supported a conservative agenda.
As a result Pelosi only controls the 435-seat chamber with a Democrat majority of just 220 seats, and a Republican minority of 212. Three seats are currently vacant.
A net loss of just four seats in next year’s midterm elections would hand Republicans control, and Democrats’ agenda may just do it.
When voters in swing districts were asked what they thought of Democrat’s $3.5 trillion spending proposal, the poll found “an average of just 36 percent approving on average to the 55 percent that said they disapprove of the proposal.”
“(W)hen asked whether they believed the $3.5 trillion in spending is “unnecessary and wasteful … in addition to the $6 trillion that has already been passed for COVID recovery and other programs,” just 35 percent of respondents said they believed the spending is necessary while 55 percent said they feel it is unnecessary,” the Post reports.
Pelosi cut a deal with radical socialist House Democrats in which she would step down as Speaker after her current terms ends. If Democrats lose the house in her final turn as party leader her legacy could be one of failure.
