Amid Joe Biden’s crisis in Afghanistan, with Taliban fighters taking over most of the embattled country, Joe Biden’s United Nations ambassador responded to the humanitarian abuses to women and girls in the country with a “strongly worded press statement.”

The Daily Wire reports:

“The UN Secretary-General is saying that they’re already getting – and I’m quoting him now – ‘chilling reports of mounting human rights violations against the women and girls of Afghanistan,’” CNN host Wolf Blitzer said. “What specifically are you learning about those threats?”

“We are hearing from people in Afghanistan that they are getting threats from the Taliban,” Thomas-Greenfield responded. “And we have expressed, in no uncertain terms, here at the United Nations through a very strongly worded press statement from the Security Council, that we expect the Taliban to respect human rights, including the rights of women and girls. We have also indicated that they have to be respectful of humanitarian law, and that we do not expect to see that Afghanistan will become a safe haven for terrorists. But again, it is not their words that we will hold them to, it is their actions that we will be watching.”

Here are some responses from Twitter to the “strongly worded press statement” which is unlikely to do much in handling the crisis.

  1. Well, the utter fear that the taliban (I will not capitalize the barbarians) must now be suffering certainly puts my mind at ease.

  2. Strong words, weak willed, incompetent empty rhetoric, blind leadership, I’m sure the Taliban is quaking in their boots.. wow how will this country survive until 2022.

  3. Joe Biden : YOU and YOU only are responsible for this. YOU should be terrorized just like those women and girls!

  4. I watched the UN meeting. to say the smartest people in the room are assembled there, would be a lie. watch this joke of world affairs for yourself. thinking people would wonder what is the function of the woke in world policy in military, humanitarian, vaxx lock-downs, social/ media controls, not to mention the geo-political failure on all levels. they focus on silly issues not practical ones. is it safer under the governing woke policy?

  5. ” STRONG WORDS”! BS! These people in the UN are totally worthless! Words don’t stop this behavior, bullets do!

  6. WOW, I sure am impressed, and I am sure the taliban is also. I kinda remember what President Trump told the taliban when he met with them shortly before leaving office and in no uncertain words – something to the effect, “You will not cause any trouble after the US military leaves. if I hear of one incident, the taliban will cease to exist!” The taliban got the message, but knew all they had to do was wait until idiot entered the white house……
