Authorities arrested a registered Florida Democrat after she allegedly tweeted her desire to shoot Gov. Ron DeSantis and U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott — all Republicans — for “looting her state.”
According to Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies, Karen Jones, 55, wrote, “DeSantis, Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are looting my state. Imma shot them.”

Palm Beach County sheriff deputies responded to Jones’ home in Lantana Saturday and arrested her on three counts of written threats to kill or do bodily harm.
After her rights were read, Jones allegedly admitted to deputies that she wrote the tweet but said it was meant to be a joke, the Miami Herald reported, citing court documents.
“When I made the observation that there were no commonly used terminology to show the post was a joke, Jones stated that anyone who follows her knows her sense of humor,” Detective M. Horton wrote in the arrest affidavit.
Jones was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail Saturday on a $15,000 bond. She was released by Sunday, Fox 35 Orlando reported, citing jail records.
Jones’ remarks came after she retweeted an article critical of Gov. DeSantis’ effort to expand Florida’s stand-your-ground law.

What are all of the marbles in her head loose? Who in their right mind would say this in the current political climate. She should be in jail (unless she made bail), and prosecuted to the full extent of the lawa. BTW, I am a Florida resident.
I’m not sure what the laws are regarding threatening to kill someone in Fl but in Ca it’s called terrorist threats and is considered a violent felony. Certainly, there are people on both sides of the divide in this country who do not act respectfully online nor even out in public! There are bullies in all walks of live and ideologies. When I post, I try to reply with either the facts as I know them and that I have vetted or try to engage in reasonable discourse. WE ALL need to keep our heads about us in these difficult times of huge differences of opinions. This cancer of divisiness is a cancer on our culture, and like eating tons of sugar when you have cancer just makes the cancer worse, all of this hatefulness in the public forums is making the divisions worse and the hatred hotter.
