Guy Fawks committed treason by nearly blowing up the House of Lords in London, England on the opening day of Parliament. For attempting to assassinate hundreds of his countrymen – including King James I – and install a Catholic monarch Fawks was found guilty of high treason and hung, drawn, and quartered.
