BREAKING – According to a leaked email apparently sent by a sergeant major from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, the U.S. Marine Corps may soon be loosening its policy on Marines sporting ink. The email with details of a potential new policy was posted to the unofficial USMC Reddit page Tuesday morning but quickly deleted.

As the consistently most traditional military branch, and perhaps the most image conscious, the Corps has continued to enforce the strictest ink policy in the Department of Defense.

The Marine Times reported that if true: “the Marine Corps may soon allow sleeve tattoos, an unlimited number of tattoos for officers, and allow future recruiters and drill instructors to sport visible ink.”

Currently, Marine Corps officers are restricted to four visible tattoos while wearing the physical training uniform. All Marines face size restrictions for visible tattoos, while almost all tattoos on the neck, face, elbow, hands or knees are banned.

Maj. Jim Stenger confirmed to Marine Corps Times Tuesday morning that the Marines “are currently evaluating the tattoo policy and we will publish an update shortly.” However, notes the Marine Times, “Stenger said the email on Reddit likely came from a Marine leader giving a heads up on possible changes coming to Marine Corps policy. He insisted that no decisions on the tattoo policy are final.”

“That’s all predecisional and nothing in there has been decided upon by the decision-makers in the process of approving any changes,” Stenger said in DoD bureaucratese.

According to the leaked email, most restrictions on size, number and placement of tattoos will be gone with the Marine Corps focusing more on the content of the tattoos.

As the Marine Corps Times explained:

If the Corps does change its tattoo policy to allow all but some hand, face and neck tattoos, one of the bigger complaints by Marines will disappear.

On Wednesday the Corps asked Marines which non-monetary incentives would convince them to reenlist.

Apparently, more ink was high on their list.  Now the question is – Should the Marines loosen their standards? Sound Off Below.

  1. I can understand tattoos for marine corp soldiers if they help Marines to show their pride in being marines but some people get addicted to the needle for real they get tattoos anywhere and everywhere to try and satisfy that euphoria that comes from the pain kicking in the endorphins
the human body can make painkiller type of chemicals released by getting hurt or inflicting pain on the. Body one when artificially manufactured as a substitute for heroin because it supposedly wouldn’t be addictive because your body can produce it turned out to be vw 100Xs stronger and more addictive than heroin

      1. You have a better chance of becoming a unicorn and 1,000 different genders than globalist puppet, chester biden winning president

      2. That is the day a criminal cabal placed an incompetent fool at their helm and the American people woke up and have decided to bring those responsible to justice. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

      3. Albert again.. You are ammusing but if your not just trying to incite and you truely believe this crap then you are a true moron and please don’t breed because surely your off spring will be as stupid as you are… jus sayin

    1. globalists voter fraud, globalist puppet chester biden was behind 20 – 30% in most states and then globalists simply projected chester biden to win .

  2. The only tats that the Marine Corp should allow is on the face.
Look at our prisons for suggestions.
    Tats are so cool.

    1. You better go down your mommy’s basement and check what your husband and his boyfriends are doing without you .

  3. I don’t understand the whole tattoo thing. Have had no desire to get one and on most people they look terrible. Often they have faded and due to age end up being one big mess!
I can see lighting up on these, however there should be restrictions on what you can get as a tattoo while serving in any US military branch. You wouldn’t want tattoos that support enemies of our country, gangs, or drug cartels.

  4. Hell yes they should allow tattoos! Tattoo are a way of showing pride to the Corp., their families and God!

  5. The entire military, except for globalist puppets in the pentagon should have a tattoo that says; Let’s Go Brandon .

  6. is this the most important issue at this present time in History? Marines are men, not sissies. Watch old cowboy movies and you will understand what I mean.

  7. As a former Marine I say NO to all visible tattoos. We must retain our image as clean cut but deadly warriors for the defense of our nation.

  8. As long as these heroic young men are willing, perhaps even eager, to go out in harms way and kill the enemies of this country that they so ably serve, who the hell cares what they wear as tattoos? Sharp creases on uniforms do not make one a more accurate rifleman.

    1. Sharp creases on uniforms are a good indication of good discipline.
Accurate rifleman need to have good discipline .

  9. If you are the Marine you should be, that is more than any other service has even with color all over their body. Just be the Marine you were made to be. I spent 24 years there and saw very few tattoos and they were on sailors when I was on carriers.

  10. What do they mean by more??? My father was a Sgt Major in the USMC, having served for over thirty plus years. He was a China Marine, WWII, Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. He had tattoos on both arms(shoulder to forearm), both thighs, and an American eagle on his chest that he use to make fly when we were kids. He could also make the ladies dance that were on his arms.
Face and neck tattoos are really unacceptable in my book. They are a distraction that really isn’t necessary

  11. ‘All Marine candidates will be screened for excessive or offensive tattoos, Those who are found to have them will be summarily rejected. Those who evade the screening and are found post-induction to have excessive or offensive tattoos will receive compulsory pre-frontal lobotomies and discharged to become Democrats.’

  12. Hell ,who cares about tat’s. Is the Corps going to wimp out like the other service branches or follow their heritage and stay strong and tough to fight for this country. To hell with the woke idiots. We have Russia , China , N. Korea , Iran , Afghanastan , and others all waiting to pounce on us. We need to get rid of our weak military officers and politicians and prep for war.

    1. So all those thousands of shoulders and/or backs of hands with the Eagle, Globe and Anchor don’t count as “ink”? Any vets from the ‘Canal or Iwo as well as Hamburger Hill, Hue and Tet might disagree.

  13. RE: Tattoo’s ?? As a Marine, my answer is not just NO but HELL NO !! I would ‘expect” a Marine to have more respect for himself !!
