While Navy didn’t fare too well at this annual tradition, getting trounced 15-0 by Army, President Trump certainly did. Though smaller than prior games due to Covid, the 9,000 midshipmen and cadets of the two academies at the 121st football match-up, gave Trump a long and loud cheering ovation.
They enthusiastically chanted “USA, USA,” as he made his entrance.

The New York Post noted that:
Midshipmen from the US Naval Academy at Annapolis jumped energetically to catch sight of him as he walked to the 50-yard line for the ceremonial coin toss, which Navy won. West Point cadets showed off their matching face masks, all emblazoned with “Beat Navy” messages.
Trump pumped his fist and turned to applaud the students as he left the tunnel to take the field for the National Anthem and the ceremonial coin toss — which Navy, calling tails, won.
Sadly, the coin tosses were the only things that Navy won that day. Meanwhile, a formation of Navy Blue Angels jets and Army Apache attack helicopters flew overhead – but while they could be heard, they were barely visible in the thick fog.
While loud and boisterous, the roar for Trump was also a bit more muted this year than the waves of ovations he received at last year’s game, noted The Post, simply due to the smaller size of this year’s event.
The New York Post added that Trump also got loud support from regular folks earlier in the day as well.
…about a dozen supporters were on hand at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, NY to cheer Trump as he landed there with chants of “Don’t give up, don’t give up” — just two days before Monday’s Electoral College vote that will seal Joe Biden’s confirmation as president-elect.
