Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe has unleashed a new lawsuit against Twitter after the social media giant banned his account.

O’Keefe is claiming that Twitter falsely accused him of operating a fake account.

As Forbes reports:

James O’Keefe, the right-wing founder of Project Veritas, filed a defamation lawsuit against Twitter Monday afternoon, claiming the social media giant falsely accused him of operating fake accounts when it permanently banned him from the platform last week.

O’Keefe’s lawsuit comes just four days after Twitter suspended O’Keefe’s account and claimed he violated its platform manipulation rules, which bar users from setting up false accounts or using multiple accounts to “artificially amplify or disrupt conversations.”

In a legal complaint Project Veritas says was filed Monday, O’Keefe said he didn’t operate fake accounts, insisting Twitter’s statements on his ban are “extremely damaging to his reputation” and undermine his investigative work.

The suit also speculated that Twitter banned O’Keefe “in order to distract and detract from” embarrassing hidden-camera videos Project Veritas had posted of a CNN staffer (the legal complaint didn’t point to any hard evidence).

  1. I hope that Twitter loses because they are against any conservative. Maybe if they loses they’ll think twice about blocking anyone anymore! I’m so tired of our free speech rights being trampled! Twitter and Facebook both need to be shut down if they don’t like what conservatives have to say!

  2. Twitter will find that they are not the only big birds in the cage. Twitter you have to keep practicing your own music or you too will hit a lot of sour notes & then you become a jailbird.

  3. Love James O’Keefe and “Project Veritas”! He is always trying to bring “Truth to Power”!

    Thank you, James O’Keefe!

  4. I really don’t think any lawsuit will do any good unless it also seeks huge monetary damages. That’s probably the only thing these guys will pay attention to. Otherwise, I think they would consider a lawsuit to be as serious as one fly buzzing around in the house.
