A conflict between pro-Trump Fox News personalities and other hosts has simmered beneath the surface at the conservative-leaning cable news channel since the days of the 2016 campaign.
At times the inner turmoil has revealed itself; however, the professionals who comprise Fox’s primetime lineup have largely steered clear of intra-network mudslinging.
Until last night’s debate, moderated by “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace.
Wallace lost control of the debate almost immediately and floundered trying to reassert his authority while Donald Trump and Joe Biden talked over one another.
Laura Ingraham took notice with a thinly-veiled barb directed at the veteran newsman:

There was nothing subtle about “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld’s condemnation of Wallace, who retweeted posts claiming his colleague was last night’s biggest loser, before tweeting it “was not good” when an exasperated Wallace laughed with Biden.

Even Brian Kilmeade who trashed Trump over a perceived strategic blunder tweeted that the debate appeared to be a two on one fight at times (RELATED: Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade: Trump Missed Biggest Layup in Debate History). Kilmeade since deleted that Tweet.
The Daily Caller further reports:
Meanwhile, Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy said that Wallace “should get out of the way” and called him out for not pressing Biden on the Green New Deal.
“Chris Wallace jumps in a second time when Biden having trouble with Trump’s questioning,” McCarthy noted.
Wallace also faced a lot of criticism outside of Fox News, like from commentators and pundits. Almost everyone dubbed the first presidential debate a dumpster fire of sorts.
Despite negative feedback from some of Wallace’s co-workers, others at Fox defended him. Geraldo Rivera, for example, wrote that “criticism of #ChrisWallace is misplaced” and that he ended up “in the middle of a knife fight.”

I take umbrage at Geraldo Rivera’s defense of Chris Wallace’s handling of the debate. He claims Wallace signed up to moderate but instead, ended up in a knife fight. He neglects to mention that it was Wallace who started the knife fight when he first and very noticeably declared himself to be in Biden’s corner and consistently, throughout the entire 90 minutes, to lend his aid to Biden while interrupting and arguing with the president. Trump was correct when he said that not only was he debating Biden, he was also having to debate the moderator as well. Definitely not “fair and balanced”.
Wallace had no control over the debate…poor choice for a moderator. Who cares what Rivera has to say anyway…Mr. Trump won the debate over bad conditions…Biden had a wire and you could see it plainly.
Since Biden is the person that hangs out with White supremacy personnel why wasn’t he asked to disown them. While I agree the President was too aggressive, the questions were hardly balanced. Why even ask the President to condemn white supremacists? Where then was the equal question to Biden regarding Antifa and BLM? The implication, is that Trump controls and is supported by, white supremacists and essentially verified the democrats assertion that Trump is a racist. Wallace did not press Biden on his various opinions on fracking or the Green New Deal. Unfortunately, Trump likely and correctly felt that absent his own attacks, Biden, who has not received any hard questioning along with Harris on their positions, would not get a pointed question. Indeed, the only hard hitting question Wallace asked Biden was on the Supreme Court Packing and the filibuster both of which Mr. Biden declined to answer and Wallace did not press him on the point.

I totally agree. I have now tuned into Newsmax for more fair and conservative views. They have better guests and more substance. I am only interested in watching Hannity, Tucker, and Laura during the week, but I switch back and forth to Newsmax if Newsmax has a more interesting guest or reporting at the same time.
