The House will go into a ninth vote. However, it is undecided yet if that will happen now or if the members will attempt to go into adjournment until later today or tomorrow. Representative Kevin McCarthy did not receive the necessary votes required in the House’s seventh or eighth vote Thursday. After talks of the party scrambling last night, it seems as though not much has changed as the day could still be full of votes, as it has been the past two days.

In the seventh vote, McCarthy got 201 votes, Jefferies got his 212 votes, Donalds got 19 votes, former President Trump got one vote, and one Rep. voted present.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fl., voted for Donald Trump shortly after the four-vote limit against McCarthy was met. Though, Gaetz would not have been one to vote for McCarthy as he has let to vote for him and remains one of his critics.

As of now, and until a Speaker is selected, House members cannot be sworn in and will continue to use the Representative-elect title. The Clerk of the House, who is currently presiding over the vote, will continue to head the House until a Speaker is selected.

The voting will continue until a majority is gained for one candidate. This could take days or even weeks depending on how the member-elects vote. Though this will for sure remain close as the votes continue to come in.

Though as of now it seems, until there is a better candidate nominated the deadlock may continue.

  1. Gaetz is an idiot. I am so disappointed is a representative from my state. He should resign. Making the Republican Party look like idiots.

  2. Well I personally thought these 20 Republicans were smarter than they appear now. I am now not sure I want them on any important committees as they are behaving like democraps. I am not a big Kevin fan either but these idiots are playing Russian Roulette.

If he doesn’t perform as he has promised, then do something later – before someone, somehow screws up and gets an extreme marxist democrap in the position.

  3. The dims remain united and the GOP maintains its reputation as the STUPID party. They are about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
