Three officials wrote a letter to the committee saying its refusal to cooperate would complicate its ability to investigate rioters, claiming the transcripts are “critical” to its work.
The DOJ previously asked the committee to share transcripts of its witness depositions, but the panel rejected the department’s request as it did not want to share “its product” prematurely.
Almost exactly one month later, the DOJ is again attempting to compel the House committee to share its work.
“It is now readily apparent that the interviews the Select Committee conducted are not just potentially relevant to our overall criminal investigations, but are likely relevant to specific prosecutions that have already commenced,” read its latest letter to the panel.
“Given this overlap, it is critical that the Select Committee provide us with copies of the transcripts of all its witness interviews.”
The letter was signed by Matthew Graves, U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., Kenneth Polite, assistant attorney general of the DOJ’s Criminal Division, and Matthew Olsen, assistant attorney general for department’s National Security Division, according to NBC News.
The DOJ is asking for all transcripts as its grand jury investigations are not public, so the committee “does not and will not know the identity of all the witnesses who have information relevant to the Department’s ongoing criminal investigations.”
The committee has not issued any comment at this time.

How could they, when everything they are supposedly “investigating” is a fraud. Besides, why are they not calling on FBI and Capitol Police who were in the crowd and pushing people forward? It was a set up from the start, because they do not want President Trump to run again — which he can and should do.

The FBI has already concluded their investigation into J6 months ago and publicly declared there was no evidence of an insurrection or incitement by President Trump. This fact coupled with the sham J6 committee’s continued refusal to share any evidence to the contrary speaks loudly of the corruption and lawlessness of that committee.
The phony “un-committee” doesn’t have any REAL evidence of a crime so they can’t pass it along to DOJ. They just leak gossip and opinions to their butt-kissing media lackeys in an attempt to blacken Trump’s name.

If anyone s looking to charge people with treason look no further than the Clinton 2020 campaign. Not only did they break the law prior to the election by lying to FBI , DOJ, Federal judges, etc but continued to after Trump was sworn in
Why is the Justice Dept. getting involved if the committee has not requested their involvement? This again shows Merrick Garland’s extreme bias. He must be replaced.
Bet they only recorded those that gave accounts of what is favorable to them and did not accept or record if any witness gave a contrary account to what they want. All witnesses who were there ab\nd can give first hand information should be recorded regardless if what is said contradicts what they only want to hear. This woud be called a hostile witneess but needs to be heard regardless of personal feeling of the commiittee

Remember when they had “real evidence” against Trump on more than one occasion which became nothing but made up lies. Here we go again.
This is not Democrats not cooperating with Republicans…it’s Dems against Dems so there’s something fishy. It’s all about timing. They want the biggest impact possible for Nov. ’22 and ’24. Pelosi and company are probably wanting to spread the “news” out…some big stuff this October and then more dribbling into ’23 and ’24.

How far has our DOJ/FBI fallen when they have to rely on rabid Democrats and 2 turncoat Republicans to do their investigations for them. I remember not that long ago they were able to do their own investigations. They could compel testimony. But now Merrick Garland has so wrecked Justice they have to rely on others to do their investigations. He should be fired and someone capable of doing the job needs to be hired in his place.
Providing the requested information would be akin to the pitcher signaling the catcher “the next one will be a spitball.”
This sham of a committee needs to be disbanded! They are purely political and not serving any purpose for the people.
