Politico has obtained and revealed an unpublished draft in an unprecedented leak that has significant implications for the Court and country.
In the opinion, Justice Samuel Alito writes:
We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.
The Judgment of the Fifth Circuit is reversed, and the case is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.
The opinion was written in early February and may have been edited or changed completely since then, which is not uncommon for early Supreme Court drafts.
A leak of this nature from the Court is unprecedented. Politicians and commentators have voiced their opinions on the potential motive behind the act and the impact it could have on the Court’s future.
Court watchers are practically incandescent at this alleged leak. Says @JonathanTurley:

Imagine the Supreme Court actually changed in response to the pressure from this leak, and the decision switched 5-4 in favor of upholding Roe and Casey

Almost immediately, barricades were erected in front of the Supreme Court. Shortly after, activists began showing up with signs and candles. While protesters were heavily skewed toward the pro-abortion side, there did appear to be pro-life messaging mixed in.

It remains to be seen what impact this will have on everything from midterm elections to potential fast-tracked legislation by Democrats in Congress.
If this leaked opinion holds, it’s wonderful news. Are we about to become a moral and lawful Country again after 50 years. Liberals leaked the opinion because they are desperate to allow abortion to continue to be used as a contraceptive. There never was any constitutional basis for Roe v Wade. That decision was an abomination.
A DIMM law clerk, or perhaps a “wise Latina,” leaked this for 2 reasons. It will incite the real domestic terrorists of antifa and BLM to attack the Constitutionalist justices AND it will take all the oxygen away from Senile Joe’s total failure on both domestic and foreign fronts!
