The Supreme Court has declined to hear a lawsuit that would have challenged the existing law which requires only men to serve in the military draft.
As The Hill reports:
The Supreme Court on Monday turned down a lawsuit alleging that the United States’ all-male military draft amounts to unconstitutional discrimination on the basis of sex.
The challenge, brought by a men’s rights group, claimed that the male-only draft is unlawful in light of a 2013 policy shift by the Defense Department that opened up combat roles to women.
Military conditions have changed dramatically since the court upheld the draft law in a 1981 decision in the case of Rostker v. Goldberg. The court at the time ruled 6-3 that the Military Selective Service Act’s male-only requirement was justified because of women’s exclusion from combat roles.
The challengers in the new case, backed by the American Civil Liberties Union, had argued that the elimination of sex-based barriers in the military without a concurrent broadening of the draft to include women created unjustified sex-based discrimination against men.

Women should not be forced into combat. The Israelis have a unique situation. Their women are different. Tough, Able to carry guns into classrooms where they teach children. Not as immoral and secular American women.
Israel army is woman only platoons. Men only platoons. There is no coed platoons.

If women want to be as they say “equal to men” and have the “same rights as men”, they they should have to be drafted the same as men are. Women want to have their cake and eat it too. alot of women cannot pysically do combat. men have more muscle and think differently than women . now if a women muscle builds and wants to that’s ok. equality for women is ok but they will never be equal to men physically unless they take testosterone. i personally like being a women and yes equality in pay is fair but physically no i would never make it.

Now History proves every thing you said to be wrong, some of the most fearsome warriors in History have been women, just in recent history everyone feared the Germans women infantry, who took no prisoners and killed the wounded so they were not a drag on the operation, in Iraq in the Kurd military women fight right along side of the men on the front lines.
This USA has taught for years that women were inferior. I was attached to the testing program, during my 26 year military career, when they were putting women in normal jobs in the military, and when it came to putting Women on flight crews, not as pilots but as cargo master and other positions the testing proved that a woman of the same size as a man and had he same training was actually stronger than a man and actually made better decisions in a simulated crisis situation.
i know several women who are about 5 foot 4 inches who most men should leave aloe if they do not want to be embarrassed or even get their butt kicked.

I went to buy a compound bow. At over 6 ft. with very long arms, I could not break the bow over as to fire. A small woman walked up and broke it over easily.

That doesn’t mean you couldn’t serve in other than combat service. Look at how many women served during WWII and if truth be known they saved our bacon with all their help on providing support in both the private sector and military.
It’s called teamwork. A war is all out, no such thing as non-combatant. Talk to the Vietnam vets about the use of little babies as cover for bombs. Women are much more ruthless than men will ever be. The real problem is that my generation(old) and less each following generation were taught to take care of women, open doors, hold the umbrella, step in when there was a problem and help. The knight in shinning armor complex if you will. That will be difficult to break because it is (or was) inborn and supported throughout your life as a male. War is not the same as it was during WWI and WWII. No more honour, no more respect for your fellow soldier, everyone for themselves. This will not win wars and introducing women into pitch battles with hand to hand combat will only make it worse. Now that I said that, maybe it would be a good thing after all! The worse we make wars, the less mankind will want to engage in them.

There are those of us women who are athletic but not masculine and I DO NOT take testosterone! I enjoy showing my feminine girley self as well as being tough as nails when I want/need to. I always maxed my PT tests while serving in Army Reserves but then could dress for the Opera that night! It can be done! Just ask my husband of 39 years!!

The “WOKE WOMAN / MAN would get fragged when the bullets are flying. DRAFT WOMEN so they KNOW they are required to support the military and country. Non Combat roles are fine. At least they can’t sit on their ass screwing the guys next door while hubby is at war. That way they have some skin in the game and have to deal with it like everybody else. They will get knocked up so they can be put out to go home. Look at all the problems the NAVY has with women on ships. This PC CRAP is going to destroy this country. That’s the idea isn’t it!

Military service is open to women who want to serve, as my mom did in WW2 when she joined the Navy Waves. The draft should be men only. Our women folk are part of what real men go to war to protect. Stop sniveling guys and “man up!” Do you really want the girls to do your fighting for you?

As a female veteran I just want to say that not all women are suitable for the unique demands placed on women of a wartime scenario. Forcing a bunch of women into the military would do more harm to the mission and to the women themselves. Exceptional Women can volunteer if they want to serve, but should not be forced into it. We had enough little girls crying all night during boot camp and they signed up, imagine what fiasco there would be if the government started including women. Besides didn’t we do away with the Draft in favor of a voluntary service contract
Unfortunately, you sometimes dont understand the unintended consequences of getting what you wish for. The womens “movement”, has insisted for years that women are equal to men in every way. So the same should be for the draft. And every parent who fought for the far fetched feminism movement can thank themselves when their little girl goes to combat.

God made us different for a reasons. Men are for the most part are stronger than women. Just look at the problem that we have have that biology men that are living as a woman, beat them every race. I am smart and old enough to know that I am not as strong as a man. I don’t want to either.
The military is changing everything to pander to women so yes they should be drafted like men are.
If they are TRULY wanting EQUALITY then Women being Drafted is the only step they can take to get equality in the Military.

I have a hard time dealing with women in the military. As a Southern gentleman, I see it as a man’s job to defend our country. I would not want to see female body parts blown up in the field.

If a women falls the guys run to her aid… not good in combat situations… takes men out of combat… they stop fighting… women in combat is a bad idea for western cultures… women should have a limited role… and if a woman is killed that is one less mother of what could have been many male children who could fight future wars… Hope you get that one…. China understands that one now after eliminating the female children some 30 years ago…Too many males and no women for them… Uggh….all that testosterone and no place for it….

So, woman and government want equality in military promotions and benefits but not the draft? Hmmm, what exactly does that say? No need for a law suit, equal treatment means woman must sign up for the draft. Now, that’s not something I ever wanted to see happen, but if you want equal treatment, there’s really no other way!
All selections should.be based on merit. Physical and mental capabilities to handle tasks related to a job description A 120 lb, 5’2” male or female should not be expected to be a cannon loader or tank mechanic but qualifications to get the job done should not consider sex

I would much prefer to see all men and women trained in the basics of self-defense and use of arms, something like a minimum two-year enlistment. This would not entitle them to any veteran benefits unless they chose to continue further into the military.
I agree with your strategy Allan. I have felt that any student that graduates from high school or is 18 years old should automatically go into the military for a 2 year period of training. If our country ends up in a war, we will not have time to train everyone that is of age to fight. If ALL 18-year-olds have 2 years of training they will be ready. Not only that they will be getting paid, able to travel, and learn some necessary skills, such as discipline. Most kids that go into college right out of high school do not know what they want to do the rest of their lives and consequently waste their time and money changing career choices, then want their student loans canceled.
If we want to win future wars, we need to either keep traditional physical fitness requirements intact or just go ahead and surrender in advance. This whole feminization push is not a good thing. Women can be still be used in the normal back up support roles, but the real physical l limitations we are witnessing (seeing over 3/4 of them routinely fail minimum physical fitness tests) should tell us all we need to know. Why don’t we consider rounding up all males of normal draft age and reconstitute FDRs Great Depression era and highly successful CCC jobs program, and whip them into fighting shape performing a myriad of countrywide work projects. They are on dope? Ween them off it. Their out of shape? Bring in military drill instructors to mold them into men again. Its just a process. One with a proven track record.
Future wars will not likely much involve archaic combat methods. They will be asymmetrical warfare.

Maybe we should do what Israel does. After High School a two year mandatory military service for all. This could relieve a lot “not knowing what I want to do” plus instill discipline and give direction. In the event we would need soldiers we would have well trained troops already to call on.
Drafts are discriminatory, based on what your doing at the time. Deferments have been used to keep some from military service in the time of war. Mandatory service would cut out deferment’s for those who have some form of influence that could get them out of serving. Serving would also help everyone to get an earned education for future use, plus their prepared to serve their country.

I was in the last cycle of the Women’s Army Corp before it became coed. I don’t believe in the coed military but if that is what the young women want then they should be drafted.
The main reason why women were not drafted was because when war broke out the women would pick up the jobs that the men had during that time. The women took care of the home, the children and worked to supply that were needed. If women were drafted who is suppose to be in the work force to supply manufactured goods etc.
Remember Rosie the Riveter? Older women can still fill the “At Home” roles. During WWII my mother worked in a gas station, pumping gas, changing tires and oil, washing car windows (most of which are a thing of the past) while my dad was fighting in Germany.
This decision was not made on the basis of factual information which is available, to any and all. Just another thing to keep women in their place, when the fact is that into days military very few of the drafted people go to be as the saying goes to be “cannon fodder.”

Anyone who votes to draft women should be summarily executed. And this especially includes any politician. Hundreds of thousands of men have given their lives in America’s past to prevent their women from being subjected to what “involuntary servitude” would certainly bring to American women. Is there ANY father in America who would allow his wife or daughter be dragged off into a military boot camp to be raped and abused, without first killing ANYONE who tried to do it? If the politicians of this country (and I include the US Supremes in this) tried to institute this draft, I predict a wholesale armed rebellion, in which the American military would take the side of the American fathers involved. I can’t think of a better way for all of the politicians in the country to be lined up and shot, than this abomination!
The answer to our snowflake problem is mandatory military service for all. It is fair and does not place unnecessary burden on patriots like those who now are the only ones serving. They would become the professional core of our military, both as officers and NCOs.
Since my time in Vietnam I believe every person must serve this country for at least two years. Either military or community service like feeding the hungry, or picking up trash along the lake. Pick the ages, Say between 18 and 25. Anyone who has been in the military knows it is change their life

Well, women have been bit**ing and moaning about equal rights in the military, wanting to be allowed in combat positions and flying planes, which most of them have done very well. However, remember the young army servicewoman who got captured? I don’t think she would have been able to survive if she had been tortured. But, hey, trans people can now serve, so if a woman wants to be a man, then she should be able to be drafted.

It would cause more deaths for men tring to protect women as is done in the Police force if you ever watch what happens during an uprising. I have and the women stay back behind a man going through doors. And I saw it in combat.
I think this is a great idea! I have always been impressed with Israel’s mandatory 2 years for all males and females. It would build some character in these privileged little snowflakes. I served 11 years in our Army Reserves as an OR nurse and felt honored to do so. MAGA!🇺🇲

This goes back to WWII and Vietnam, both of which drafted able bodied men to go die in the hundreds of thousands, while hippies and women were left behind to vote democrat.

Women should be required to register for the draft for non-combat duties. They want equality then they should get it. If society says there is no difference between men and women then you can’t have exceptions.
