The House GOP leadership is now pushing its members hard to block a new bill that would increase security at the Capitol in the wake of the January 6th riot.

As The Hill reports:

House GOP leaders are urging Republicans to vote against a $1.9 billion supplemental appropriations bill to bolster security at the Capitol in the wake of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Republican leaders aren’t conducting a formal whip effort against the bill ahead of Thursday’s vote, but they are saying their members should vote against it, according to a spokesperson for House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.). Most Republicans are expected to oppose the legislation.

The vote comes a day after all but 35 House Republicans voted against legislation to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Almost all Democrats and even some Republicans seem hell-bent on turning the ‘People’s house’ into a fortress, something foreign to any historic American. norms.

As I pointed out, tyrants AND “turncoats” are not voted out of power.

Of course the Democommie Patricians on the Hill shouldn’t be demeaned by the presence of mere serfs whose votes they can buy using a pittance of the wealth they’ve stolen from them (and their posterity) while enriching themselves with the rest.
