A Presbyterian Minister is now suing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris, the U.S. Capitol Police Board, and the Senate Sergeant at Arms, for violating his First Amendment rights by preventing him from accessing the Capitol grounds.
As Fox News reports:
Rev. Patrick Mahoney says in his complaint, filed Tuesday in federal court, that he has been trying to hold a prayer vigil for Good Friday on the sidewalk near the Lower Western Terrace of the Capitol, but authorities denied his request. Mahoney claims that he has held many similar events at the same location in the past, including last year, when he worked with Capitol Police to make sure the event complied with COVID-19 restrictions.
“These acts by Defendants have effectively created a no-speech zone in one of the most important public forums in the nation,” the complaint reads.
The area around the Capitol has been fenced off and the National Guard has been present in the area following the violent protest that took place on Jan. 6. Mahoney said that incident was part of the inspiration for the vigil, stating in the lawsuit that it is “for the express purpose of beseeching God’s healing from the divisiveness and anxiety lingering over our nation since the tragic events of January 6, 2021.”…
Mahoney claims that his prohibition from holding the vigil violates his First Amendment rights of free speech, assembly, and free exercise of religion. He also claims violations of his Fifth Amendment right to due process and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
It seems that the Democrat’s desire to turn the people’s house into a militarized zone reminisce more of North Korea than a free country may end up having unintended consequences.

True. We’re supposed to be free to practice our religion. Mine is Roman Catholic, though I’m no longer devout. I used to support Catholic causes, but since Americans now believe the ‘Messiah’ has arrived in Washington, I’ll allow them to guide the gentry toward Milk and Honey.

Americans are way too complacent about the activities occurring in Washington and our state governments. The Constitution you reference is supposed to inhibit just what our governments are engaged in presently. They’re not supposed to favor any single faction, religion or foreign powers. They’re supposed to maintain fiscal solvency, along with our national security, border security, SOVEREIGNTY and secure the blessings of liberty to each American. All that sounds great, but the Framers understood that their creation would be challenged and/or ignored by tyrants. They wisely furnished the American people with the power to petition our leadership for redress of our grievance. Should that measure prove to be ineffective, they VERY wisely ensured we would have the power to remove such tyrants by force. That is one overriding reason why our 2nd Amendment is under attack. Indeed, our 1st Amendment Rights are similarly on the chopping block if we do not reverse this trend.

This is what everyone should be doing, finding ways to sue the current communist government. These people not only lie EVERY DAY, but with the help from MSM they spin their own stories.
