The National Guard has now been requested to stay and guard the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. for an addition two months due to supposed ‘continuing security concerns.’
The request for the additional two months was reportedly made by the Capitol Police.

The Guard has been stationed at the Capitol behind miles of barbed wire fence since the January 6th riot. There have been continual concerns voiced primarily by Democrats that the Capitol may once again come under attack by right-wing ‘domestic terrorists.’

In addition, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated today that she would be willing to let the Guard for ‘as long as they’re needed.’

Now since you are apparently not a student of the Constitution, maybe you should read what it says about the Military, which the Constitution calls the Army , mainly because we only had an Army when the Constitution was written,
Now the sole responsibility for any military deployment falls directly to the Deployment officer in charge to provide, Billeting, Food, Medical and anything else the Troops need. It is setup that way to take the politics out of the equation. There is an age old saying, the Army travels on its stomach, exactly why they have their own cooks and kitchens to prepare the food on any deployment.

The National Guard are under the control of the Governor of the state until called up by the Secretary of Defense for regular duty. exactly why they could not be deployed until the Sec of Defense activated the guard, and that only takes about 5 minutes at most. Under the Truman Doctrine it only says the Guard can be used for other than home country defense, and be incorporated for foreign assignments. Prior to that the National Guard was just that used inside of this USA only.
My uncle Bob, whom I’m named after,, spent 38 years in the National Guard serving in WWII & Korean War They are military troops. I followed in his footsteps serving 30 years in the U.S. Navy.

Now since it is not the civilian or political who are feeding and providing Billeting for those National Guard it is the Deployment office who is responsible for providing for the troops deployed under him. The laws of the US and the Military say who does what and keeps the Politicians out of it in every way you can think of. If you think that any military any place in the World is any different you have not served like I did for 26 years, I remember eating meat products where when you tore the meat from the bone maggots fell out but we et it any way because it was what we had, and later opening MRE and the smell of rotten food would cause some to throw up.

Pelosi doesn’t have the authority to keep the National Guard in DC. Depending on which article (Article 10 or Article 32), determines who can deploy the National Guard. Perhaps the State Governors should recall their state troops.

It is absolutely outrageous the way our national guard troops have been, and are being treated. I saw them pulling guard duty, in back of the fence, at the capitol building during what looked like snow was falling pretty fast. The streets were empty. They were sleeping in parking garages and being feed what I believe looked like garbage from praising plants. It was SHIT. If I were the governor from the states these troops are assigned to I would have them home right now. The people in Wash. DC should be ashamed of themselves. I think an investigation into the food problem needs to be investigated. Who made the contract and who gets the kick back. Who is responsible for getting garbage and metal particles in the food. The damn illegal immigrants are being treated far better than our soldiers and that is just the beginning.

The decision to keep the National Guard and the fencing up had nothing to do with either party, the decision was made based on the National Security assessment, from that Department and the Capitol Police acted on it. Even after the fences come down and the National Guard are gone , any group who decides on such actions the next time will not get such an unprepared welcome. There will be a strong defense of all Federal buildings from this point on.

I read an article about how the Guard is being fed daily with a breakfast roll and a juice box. I used to work in a jail, and that’s what prisoners got in the morning before bond call. They got fed better after they reached their destination TBD after bond call at 8 a.m. The same article said some of the meat in the Guard’s meals was bad, making them bedridden, and there were even metal shavings found in some of their meals.
