Marine Corps veteran and former treasurer of Ohio Josh Mandel is reportedly set to announce that he will be running for Ohio Senator Rob Portman’s seat in 2022. Portman will be vacating the seat due to his decision to retire from politics.
The 43-year-old Mandel is an outspoken proponent of former President Trump’s America First agenda, his upcoming announcement will mark his third run for Senate in Ohio.
As ABC reports:
Mandel, 43, planned to launch his campaign Wednesday against the backdrop of a second round of impeachment proceedings against the former Republican president.
“This impeachment of President Trump is a complete sham and got my blood boiling to the point where I decided to run for the United States Senate,” Mandel said in an interview. He said he believes charges against Trump are unfounded and the proceeding is unconstitutional.
Mandel was the first statewide official in Ohio to back Trump in 2016 and he raised $500,000 for him in 2020, he said. His campaign will focus on common themes of economic freedom, individual liberty and the “America First” agenda.
“When I go to Washington, I’m going to go there to pulverize the uni-party,” he said. “The uni-party is what I call this group of Democrats and Republicans who sound exactly the same and are more interested in getting invited to the cocktail party circuit than they are in standing up for the Constitution.”
In addition to Democrats, Mandel will also likely face competition within his own party during the primary from the former chair of the Ohio GOP Jane Timken, who is also reportedly considering a run for the same seat.

There was no cheating in Oklahoma, we have to show photo ID before we’re allowed to vote, and it must be made that way throughout the country, or we’ll never win another election. The democraps always say we’re trying to keep minorities from voting, but no we are trying to keep cheats from stealing our elections! They’ve been cheating for so long that they think they can do it and make us into Russia before we ever get the chance to take them down! Make voter ID the only way to vote!

I live in Oklahoma as well. The week before the voting day I received a ballot that I did not request. I tore it up and went to vote on person. The lady that took my registration gave me a funny look and after taking my voter card she never said a word ! I will never vote absentee.

I think Mandel would be a great Senator and he should run. I hope the citizens of Ohio will focus more on what the Democrats are trying to do to this country and vote for Mandel who will put America first!!

Mandel is a joke. I wish I had a better memory or could do a better search, but he is not worthy of the seat; and I hate to say that of someone who served our country, but there MUST be someone better!

If all Trumps legal team does is argue that the impeachment is unconstitutional, Trump is going to get convicted. They need to argue that he is NOT GUILTY of inciting an insurrection. And they need to argue that he was within his right to say the election was STOLEN because it was. The evidence of massive and widespread voter fraud needs to be presented. The Democrats entire thrust, including the riots and including this impeachment, is to suppress evidence and keep it from being presented.
