George Soros’ top operative has suddenly resigned as President of the Open Society Foundations, further fueling speculation he is about to be named Labor Secretary in Joe Biden’s cabinet.
“I write to share with you that I will leave Open Society at the end of the year,” Patrick Gaspard wrote in an announcement to OSF employees. “After four profound years of service to this extraordinary institution, and at a critical juncture for the democracy that is my home, I am compelled to charge once more unto the breach in a new political moment.”
Soros himself, who speaks publicly relatively rarely, personally praised Gaspard’s move.
“From his work as a union organizer to his political leadership during the Obama administration to his role as U.S. ambassador to South Africa, Patrick has been a champion of all rights: whether for workers, for women, or for underserved groups,” said Soros. “His dedication to those challenging power is precisely why I invited Patrick to join Open Society. I have great admiration for the way he led the Foundations in a world beset by illiberalism, and I applaud him.”
Gaspard’s reference to “a new political moment” appears to refer to speculation is he about to be nominated to Biden’s White House, possibly as Labor Secretary where he would have tremendous control over American employers.
A former ambassador to South Africa under Barack Obama, Gaspard has been president of Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2017. Before serving as ambassador from 2013 to 2017 Gaspard was Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee and as political director of both the Obama White House and 2008 presidential campaign.
Gaspard would be the latest in a horde of Soros figures already named to key Biden posts.
“Sarah Cross, an advocacy director at Soros’s Open Society Foundations, is on Biden’s State Department team. Michael Penn, a special adviser in the executive office of the Open Society Foundations, is on the United Nations team. Diane Thompson, a Leadership in Government Fellow at the Open Society Foundations, was tapped for Biden’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau transition team,” The Washington Free Beacon reported.
“During his three-year tenure, he confronted significant threats to open societies around the globe, including the rise of authoritarian regimes and the spread of the COVID-19 virus worldwide. Under his capable leadership, the Open Society Foundations have emerged stronger than ever,” the Open Society Foundation said in a statement announcing Gaspard’s resignation.

Soros has his hands in many pies more than we can imagine. There used to be pics on the internet that had his son Alex and himself with Hillary, Pelosi, Schumer, Kerry and a few others at a party. I’ve tried to find them but of course I can’t now. This was about 6 or 7 years ago. And Soros with all his foundations tentacles funding BLM and ANTIFA they reach everywhere.
