Standing strong!

Five Congress members, all Republicans, voted against a (disingenuous) resolution committing to a peaceful transfer of power following the election.

They correctly argue the resolution is a nakedly political statement meant to diminish President Trump and disguise the fact that some Democrats — like Hillary Clinton — are acting as if they’ll refuse to accept any results short of a Biden landslide.

Here are the conservative lawmakers who voted against the left’s latest stunt:

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL)

Gaetz told his colleagues, “This resolution is a way for Democrats to attack the president and disguise the fact that they will refuse to accept the election results unless they win.” After further criticizing leftist tactics, he concluded by stating, “I unequivocally support the peaceful transfer of power but will vote no on this resolution, and I encourage my colleagues to do the same. And I will pray that America survives the Democrats’ mad and destructive lust for power.”

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)

Massie wasted no time decrying the resolution as “a disingenuous political statement meant to poke the president in the eye.” Republicans weren’t immune from the Kentucky conservative’s wrath either. He added, “Isn’t it interesting that speaker Pelosi and leader McCarthy didn’t have the time or political willpower to take a recorded vote on the $2 trillion bailout package that passed in March, but they’re now happy to vote on this tripe?”

A Police captain-turned-Congressman, Higgins, chastised the Democrat stunt, calling it “an attack against Mr. Trump that falsely asserts an intention to resist a peaceful transition of executive power after an uncontested election result.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)

Gohmert has represented Texas’ first congressional district since 2005. He’s one of the most conservative Republican caucus members and a stalwart supporter of the Trump administration.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA)

King has represented the northwest quadrant of Iowa since 2003. He lost his 2020 primary to State Rep. Randy Feenstra in June.

  1. God Bless each and every one of these men. They are strong, patriotic and principled but where are the women?? Don’t they understand that this is another power play by the DemocRATS??

  2. these people are why we need term limits. pelosi nedds to be gone as does schumer feinstein waters and with ot a doubt schitt

  3. It shows how cowardly Republicans are in failing to realize the consequences to Trump and their party as well as their careers. The voters that put them in Congress will soon turn against them and likely vote Democrat or not at all, leaving the Democrats to take these seats. Time for real grass roots leaders to oust them and form the same loyalty that Democrats do for their initiatives and against the opposing Republicans.
