Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard controversially charged police officers Garrett Rolfe for murder and Devin Brosnan for aggravated assault in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks before the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) completed its investigation.
Now, Howard finds himself at the center of another criminal investigation involving the GBI.
Only this time, he’s the suspect.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has asked the GBI to expand the scope of its current investigation regarding Howard after Carr learned about subpoenas Howard’s office issued regarding Officer Garrett Rolfe and the use of force against Brooks, whom Rolfe shot after he resisted arrest and fired a taser at him during a DUI arrest.
Shortly after the shooting, Howard issued grand jury subpoenas to Atlanta P.D., compelling the department to turn over all documents related to its investigation. Other grand jury subpoenas were issued for nearby surveillance video. Yet the grand jury “had been suspended on March 13 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.” It remains suspended despite Howard issuing his subpoenas.
Gable Cino, who is a law professor that specializes in prosecutorial misconduct, told the outlet, “It would be a violation of criminal law to make a knowingly false statement or misrepresentation in the subpoena which is a document that has been issued.”
GBI Director Vic Reynolds said that the department was aware of the matter and apparently is looking into it.
GBI was already investigating Howard earlier this year over a “mysterious salary supplement negotiated between Howard and then Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed” that directed $250,000 over a a 3-year period into a non-profit that was run by the DA’s office, Fox 5 reports. Howard allegedly took $140,000 from those funds to supplement his own salary.
Howard rose to national prominence after his speedy charges against the two officers involved in Brook’s death, which criminal defense attorney Page Pate called a “political gift” for Howard. “He is running as fast as he can to make prosecutorial decisions that may at the end of the day be the correct decisions,” Pate said, “But make no mistake, the timing is driven by the politics.”
Additionally, three women who’ve worked for Howard have accused him of sexual misconduct and gender discrimination, including his onetime deputy chief of staff.

I just hope that all rational Americans look at the manner in which Democratic leaders are wielding their authority and actively abrogating the rule of law in this country. They condone rioters, mob-rule and thugs by their silence. Or in this case, by pursuing criminal charges against law enforcement officers responding to an out-of-control person wielding what turned out to be a taser (an effective tool for disabling someone) but could just as easily have been a loaded gun.
I am personally done with Democrats, after many years of having been a supporter. They have joined forces with those who would wreak havoc on this country and have marginalized themselves out of existence for me.

I quit the Democrats years ago. Obama was the worst Democratic president we have had in years and almost destroyed this country until Trump brought some life back into America. Like him or hate him doesn’t matter, he had been a blessing to America, loves America and the citizens which is more than I can say about the Democrats.

So the story goes the DA “make a knowingly false statement or misrepresentation in the subpoena” sounds like getting a phony dossier and using it to get a FISA warrant against a American citizen for the purpose to spy on a political opponent.
Dems playbook for all to see – no consequences for breaking the law. Investigations that takes years and when the hammer is about to fall, the main stream press along with the Dem’s allies rally to have some “peaceful demonstrations” leaving people burned, looted, and dead in the streets.

So $140,000.00 of taxpayer money was diverted (ie stolen) by Howard. I have no doubt the the other $110,000.00 ended up the the mayors pocket.
