The State of Louisiana is postponing its presidential primary from April 4 to at least June 20 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, the state will postpone its primary for about two months. Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin is expected to address the outbreak as well as the postponement at a Friday press conference.
The widening outbreak of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, has prompted cancellations around the country and has upended the 2020 presidential race. The U.S. death toll rose to 41 on Friday with the first reported death in Kansas.
The cancellation comes as other states holding contests on Tuesday, like Ohio, struggle to find poll workers and volunteers.
The Constitution allows for postponing federal elections, but that would require an act of Congress.

This is the biggest con job I’ve ever witnessed in my life. They are so afraid of losing legally…the only option is to kill elections, put up a demented moron as a candidate, and continue to attack the POTUS…don’t but it America. Insist on your rights to VOTE when you want to!!
Kudos for saying it like it is, Jcatherin! This is the biggest bunch of senseless hype I have ever seen in my decades of living!! And the liberal media needs to shut up about it.
the party of the sane people don’t need a primary. Once again, the idiots have shot themselves in the foot (and mouth). This is gonna be GREAT too
? I think the same thing. Not good.
Nancy said “One Way or Another,’ Trump Will Not Be President in Ten Months”. She is a hateful woman and will do anything to stop President Trump from having a second term.
This is a terrible way to treat very good President , Donald Trump. Shame on you.
The Demo-gogues don’t have a candidate, not a decent, pious, patriotic, highly functional and successful one, anyway. All the Dems can really do is defame the man we elected, while preparing to cheat like all-get-out.
