In his bid to peddle his new anti-Trump book, disgraced former FBI Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok calls President Trump a “disgrace” and says he still believes Trump is “compromised by the Russians.” This, even though the Mueller special counsel’s investigation found no collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia.
In fact, it is Strzok’s credibility on this issue that has been ‘compromised.’ More importantly, the Trump administration’s Russia policies have consistently been infinitely stronger than those of former President Barack Obama.
In a recent NBC interview, noted by the New York Post, Strzok cites President Trump’s financial dealings with Russia through hundreds of entities comprising the Trump Organization and said:
I continue to believe that Donald Trump is compromised by the Russians. When I say that, I mean that they hold leverage over him that makes him incapable of placing the national interest, the national security ahead of his own interest.
While these types of counterintelligence concerns are valid – especially considering Trump is the first businessman president in U.S. history, and does have extensive business interests in Russia, Strzok’s credibility and impartiality are less than stellar.
As noted by the Post, Strzok “famously carried out an email exchange during the campaign with FBI attorney Lisa Page, with whom he was having an affair, in which he vowed to derail Mr. Trump’s presidential bid, at one point texting, ‘We’ll stop it,’ at another point discussing an ‘insurance policy’ if Mr. Trump were elected.”
Pennsylvania Republican U.S. Representative Guy Reschenthaler, tweeted, “Only the leftist media would still consider [one] of the key players in the Trump resistance a ‘credible’ source.”
But it doesn’t end there, even more damning news surfaced last week about the Russia probe when it was uncovered that 27 government-issued smartphones belonging to the staff of special counsel Robert Mueller had been “wiped” of all data and reset to factory settings when they were turned in.
This has raised new concerns of a cover-up and according to The Post, prompted Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton to call for “a criminal investigation of this destruction of evidence and potential obstruction of justice and other crimes.”
More importantly, neither Strzok – nor any other partisans accusing Trump of being ‘compromised by Russia’ – ever explain how these speculative accusations have translated into any pro-Russia policies. In fact, Trump’s policies toward Russia have been demonstrably tougher than those of his notoriously weak-on-Russia predecessor, Obama.
The center-left Brookings Institute actually documented 52 actions taken by the Trump administration against Russia between 2017 and the end of 2019. These strong actions include Trump supplying Ukraine with lethal Javelin anti-tank missiles to help defend against Russia. Obama had blocked lethal weapons sales to Ukraine.
They also include Trump supplying front-line NATO ally Poland with air defense missiles, also blocked by Obama, and forward deploying U.S. troops from Germany to Poland on Russia’s borders. The president has also actively opposed the multi-billion Russian Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline to Germany, which helps Russia finance its military and makes Germany and Europe energy-dependent on Russia.
President Trump has already expelled 60 Russian intelligence officers – almost twice as many as Obama – and closed Russian embassies in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and New York City, and their consulate in Seattle. Obama only expelled the 35 Russian spies in late 2016 after Trump was elected.
And despite the claims Trump has been weak on sanctions, in fact, he has applied 20 different sanctions against Russia and Russian officials since he was inaugurated, notes the Brookings report. These were reprisals against various ‘malicious’ activities including Russia’s 2016 election interference – which occurred under Obama – human rights violations, corruption, cyberattacks, nerve agent attack in the U.K., as well as Russia’s Crimea and Ukraine invasions.
So, the question remains, if Trump is compromised by Russia, how has this affected U.S. policy toward Russia, and why is U.S. Russia policy demonstrably stronger in almost every way under Trump than under President Obama?
It seems that Trump’s accusers are the ones who are ‘compromised.’ Trump has been far stronger on Russia than Obama ever was.

I watched about 30 seconds of this 60 Minutes interview with Strzok and was immediately reminded of how distasteful and arrogant the man is. Yuck. I wonder what he will do for a living once his book our is over, as I can’t imagine high book sales will support him for long.
I notice that those on the left still pushing the Russian BS always say they “believe” when they are spewing their BS. Never any solid truth, information. I believe humpty dumpty really existed!!!
