The Mexican government under President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wants more information about a disastrous U.S. sting operation against cartel leaders intended to lead to their arrests.
The Lopez Obrador administration, in particular, wants to know what Mexican authorities knew about the gun-walking scandal after former Attorney General Eric Holder claimed they were notified at the time of Operation Fast and Furious. (RELATED: Judicial Watch Goes After Corrupt Eric Holder)
The Obama-era scheme followed similar sting operations carried out during the George W. Bush administration.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intended to track the movement of illegally-purchased firearms and secondarily, limit gun smuggling across the U.S.-Mexico border.
However, a 2012 review discovered that federal law enforcement authorities had only recovered approximately one-third of the 2,000 firearms sent across the border.

Holder was the U.S. Attorney General under Obama between 2009 and 2015. Ebrard said he previously issued a statement by way of the U.S. embassy in Mexico asserting that “Mexican authorities” knew about the program, the news organization reported.

In 2012, the Justice Department report had found “no evidence” that Holder was informed about the operation or learned about the tactics employed by the ATF, according to the USA Today.
Lopez Obrador first talked of the scheme last Monday when discussing Genaro Garcia Luna, the former Mexican security minister from 2006-2012, who was arrested in the U.S. last December on drug trafficking offenses, Reuters reported.
The Mexican president claimed the arrest of the Luna — who had also led an attack on drug gangs in the country — proved that corruption was prevalent in past Mexican governments.

Can there be any doubt that Holder and Obama lied. For sure they did. In fact they are the premiere liars of our history. Just like Lynch lied about her meeting with Bill Clinton. As I recall, under the Bush administration, shipments of weapons were interdicted BEFORE they crossed the border into Mexico. Under the Obama administration, the weapons were allowed across the border (where US authorities had much less control of the shipments) and were lost track of.
I’m of that same opinion. It is my understanding that the Bush administration had the guns tagged with tracking devices, and it worked for a while until the bad guys figured out how the police were able to locate them. After that the program was dropped. Now I’m not saying that’s true but that’s the story I heard. Obambam did it to try to push for gun control, hoping that people would scream for it when Mexicans were killed with them, remember a Border Patrol agent was killed with one.

Obrador’s question is easily answered. Obama’s Shyster General used a rejected and never implemented brainstorm left over from Bush 43’s reign. Bush’s Gunrunner program arrested more than a thousand criminal arms dealers and confiscated more than ten thousand firearms.
The Fast & Furious piece of this program began in 2009 by having gun store owners illegally sell firearms to suspected criminals. Insider ATF agents were ordered let the guns “walk” into the hands of Mexican cartels. They did and predictably, one of them was used to murder a Border Patrol Agent.
Not only did these Keystone Kops lose track of the arms, the cartels quickly learned of the tracking scheme. If not for the Shyster General stonewalling congress and investigators, the president might have been charged with felony arms trafficking. It was a disaster and conservatives, e.g., Grassley, stopped it.
Mexican officials are not the only people curious about the criminal fiasco of Operation Fast and Furious. Millions of Americans are more than a little curious about the Fast and Loose Misdeeds of government agencies, in particular the ATF,aka BATFE and Dept. of Justice, the current home of that errant mob. How come a bunch of questions have remained unanswered for so long, and when will interested parties get the truth as opposed to the usual baloney, putting it politely, from government?

Fast and Furious was not against Mexico. It’s purpose was to damage or repeal the Second Amendment. American guns sold from American gun shop that ended up in the hands of the cartel. Operation Fast and Furious was a Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation involving up to 11 Federal Agencies, as well as elements of State and Local law enforcement. It was run out of the US Attorney’s Office in Phoenix and reported directly to the US Attorney General’s Office in Washington, DC. Their version of “tracking” the weapons involved sticking pins in a map denoting where F&F guns were recovered at crime scenes. Holder’s testimony before Congress said “we will be seeing the effects of F&F as we recover guns at crime scenes on both sides of the border”. Mexican authorities knew there was “an operation”, but they had no details.
Us USA citizens would also like to know. And the guilty bastards hung for treason and attacking foreign soil. I believe that is an act of war.
