Disney has decided to move away from CEO Bob Chapek in favor of bringing back former CEO Bob Iger. The once-good relationship between Chapek and Iger lead to Iger picking Chapek to replace in as CEO in 2020. After Iger chose Chapek to take the reins of Disney as their CEO Iger and Chapek rarely spoke. After serving as the CEO of Disney for 15 years before 2020, Iger will return to Disney.

Disney’s stock has fallen a dramatic 41% percent in 2022, and after Disney had previously offered Chapek an additional 3 years on his contract to serve as CEO of Disney, the company decided to move away from Chapek in favor of bringing back the now 71-year-old Bob Iger.

Disney+ saw an increase in subscribers by 12.1 million, bringing their total globally to 164.2 million, as Disney reported earlier this month. However, increasing operating losses for streaming services nearly doubled to $1.47 billion throughout the last quarter.

Wall Street Concerns grew, and last week CNBC’s “Mad Money,” host Jim Cramer not only called these numbers part of the “balance sheet from hell,” but also called for Disney to remove Bob Chapek from his position as CEO.

Many social media users were glad to see Chapek leaving his role as Disney’s CEO. His handling of situations such as Florida’s decision to not teach sexually based topics to children, tagged as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, were lackluster. Chapek chose to not mention the situation, which then bothered many of the employees. Chapek then decided to pull a 180 and signal their displeasure with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s bill. This put Disney under the thumb of DeSantis – and within 48 hours, both chambers of legislature followed DeSantis’s lead and removed the special tax status Disney was afforded.

  1. Too late, he’s already ruined Disney. I, as a parent and grandparent, will never purchase any of their products, nor see another Disney movie again.

  2. When will these companies learn to stay away from social issues. Conduct your business – no need to get involved in social justice. May take a while to regain the trust of the lost customers. Sad because Disney was always a respected family-oriented company.

  3. Go woke, go broke. Very true statement. This is a step in the right direction for Disney. As long as the clown chapek was in charge our families & friends wrote off Disney. We had many years of fun with our kids & grandkids. Having Disney try to shove the woke bs to kids is unacceptable. Good luck on trying to become a positive influence on society & reverse everything clown chapek created.

  4. Will that also mean that Disney will return to wholesome clean family entertainment that all can enjoy or is it going to continue to be the “woke” company that supports and endorses LGFBTQ+ nonsense in their programming that most of us normal folks don’t want our children exposed to and engaged in?

  5. I hope Disney continues to crash, until they totally abandon their anti-family, morally reprehensible actions and activities.

  6. Let me be the first to say that is great news! Any man that heads up a company that is so morally corrupt as the Disney Corporation is today, certainly deserves to be fired!

  7. Disney needs to stop this WOKEness. Keep the park family friendly or they will go away like a lot of amusement parks.

  8. Don’t mess with Florida. Disney thought it had more political clout than Anerican parents and the entertainment company does not. Age-appropriate messages taught to children is not the same as bigotry or censorship. Disney encountered a herd of Republican elephants, American parents, up against Disney’s Dumbo political tactics. Losing 41 percent in the company’s stock price is a huge wakeup call against woke political ideology.

  9. Has anyone ever seen or heard of any business, governments or individuals that’s profited or even improved by adopting militant WOKE? You never will either. WOKE keeps becoming more radical and can never satisfy it’s lust for power and it ultimately it’s self destruction.

  10. It does not matter to me WHO s running that fag co and more than i care what happens to the NFL thugs that take make money in THIS country and yet dont care for it

  11. Good move by Disney to remove Chapek. These companies have got to stop catering to the woke crowd. Stay out of politics.
BLM proved how corrupt they were.
