President Biden claimed ‘not all’ Catholic bishops want to end taxpayer-funded abortion services, however, letter from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops released Friday demanded exactly the opposite. Biden is attempting to pick out small outliers in the Catholic church who are more in line with American Democrat ideology, however, the Catholic bishops having their words twisted on them are speaking out President Biden’s statement.

Despite explicit word from U.S. Catholic bishops as well as official word from Pope Francis himself, Biden attempted to twist the Catholic faith when a reporter attempted to press Biden, saying, “Catholic bishops are demanding that federal tax dollars not fund abortions.”

President Biden replied saying, “No, they are not all doing that, nor is the pope doing that.”

In a letter published by The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) written for the U.S. House of Representatives as well as the U.S. Senate, the USCCB called for the end of all taxpayer-funded abortion services.

In the letter by the USCCB, Diocese of Arlington’s Bishop Michael Burbidge, head of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities. wrote in his letter to the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, saying:

“Protecting taxpayers from being forced to pay for abortion in violation of their conscience is a principle that has enjoyed historically broad support among Americans, regardless of their otherwise passionately divided views on the topic. It has also been life-saving,” adding, “Rather than funding abortion, Congress can better serve the common good by prioritizing policies that comprehensively assist women, children, and families in need in ways that will not only encourage childbirth but make it easier to welcome and raise a new child.”

Pope Francis’s previous comments on abortion also point to being in line with the traditional Catholic faith, as he compared abortions to “hiring a hitman,” and went as far as to say that as humans, we should “leave killing to the animals.” Certainly not comments that a man who is in favor of taxpayer-funded abortions would be making.

Diocese of Tyler Bishop Joseph Strickland wrote a statement condemning Biden for his comments, saying:

“Mr. Biden can’t be allowed to twist the words of Pope Francis in this way… I implore the Vatican press office to emphatically clarify that Pope Francis rightly calls abortion murder. It is time to denounce Biden’s fake Catholicism.”

Comments

  1. Biden needs to be told once and for all that he cannot call himself Catholic. Abortion is not allowed in the Catholic Church

  2. Opposing abortion increases the chances of more young boys being born and then being available for priests to have sex with. The Child Molester Church needs as many young men as possible to be born.
