Wounded Warrior-Turned-Rep. Attacked for Omar Criticism
Crenshaw has been "derided by the left," the Washington Examiner reports, and mocked for having sustained a war wound, in the days since he tweeted that Omar was the “First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something.’ Unbelievable."
Initially, the criticism aimed at Crenshaw was just...strange. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), for example, accused Crenshaw of failing to address terrorism because he did not sign on as a co-sponsor to a bill making federal health benefits for 9/11 survivors permanent (Omar is a co-sponsor).
Not only did Crenshaw serve his country as a Navy SEAL while Omar ploted her political aspirations, but the bill doesn't require supporters to become co-sponsors – nor has it made its way to the House floor for a vote.
Over the weekend, though, Crenshaw posted a video of himself defending his criticism and calling for deference to 9/11 victims in an interview with NBC. That's when all Hell really broke loose.
This week was a new low in partisanship & dishonesty.— Rep. Dan Crenshaw (@RepDanCrenshaw) April 12, 2019
I watched in disbelief as some covered for Omar by coming after me with lies & absurd claims that I don’t support 9/11 victims.
What a disgusting, dishonest tactic.
Why turn this into a political football?

Talia Lavin, already making a name for herself asking why anyone should treat September 11 as "sacred," responded by calling Crenshaw "captain shithead."
Freelance writer Rob Rousseau attacked Crenshaw for losing an eye in combat, tweeting, "You’re deliberately lying about what she said you eyeless f**k."
Twitter took down Rousseau's tweet.
Others attacked Crenshaw, the receipt of two Bronze Stars (one with valor), the Purple Heart, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with valor, by calling him a "Nazi" and a "Fascist."
Besides slurs from the dark recesses of the internet, Crenshaw faced condemnation from elements of the mainstream media. On MSNBC, Crenshaw was repeatedly accused of threatening Rep. Omar's life. The network joined the leftist chorus online proclaiming any criticism of Omar is tantamount to inciting violence.
